require alternate side, night parking. park on the odd side of the street for odd numbered days... and the opposite for even numbered days on the calendar. that's to help department of public works crews more efficiently - and safely - remove snow. there are some exceptions to the regulations: for example overnight parking is banned on major, arterial streets and bus routes. and overnight parking is allowed on both sides of some unless dpw announces a snow plow - or other public works operation - will happen overnight on that street. d-p-w says always look at any posted signs before you park. those signs take precedence

an important message from police as it's getting colder.... lock your cars... and don't leave them idling to warm up.wauwatosa police got the first idling car theft report of the season yesterday. the city of milwaukee actually has an ordinance prohibiting people from allowing their cars to warm up unattended during cold breaking news overnight - as a police standoff continues in tacoma, washington.. right now -- police are paying their respects for a fallen officer. lines of police and civilians saluted the body of the officer... as it was transported from the hospital to the medical examiners office.the officer died after being shot several times last night --- by a suspect who barricaded inside that home. police say he was responding to a domestic disturbance at the time.police were able to get adults and children out of the home ---- following the shooting.this is the first officer to die in the line of duty in tacoma since 1997 authorities do not believe anyone besides the suspect is

the area are blocked off --- as police investigate. more local news now - there have been two armed robberies at the valhalla cemetery within the last two weeks. kenneth johlke is one of the victims. he says on a visit to the cemetary he was stunned four times by two men. now johlke says he's out of $170 and his car. hit you in the face"i 12:35:38was yelling and screaming and the guy he says if more time i'm your mouth in the facewe spoke w we spoke with in the facewe spoke with management and they tell us that they will be adding security cameras and a security guard at the cemetery within the next week. milwaukee police are still looking for suspects. just last month --- u-f-c fighter ''anthony pettis'' had several of his cars set on fire on his driveway... milwaukee police called it

captured more creeps on camera. his girlfriend sent us some video, and he posted more on his facebook page. he's offering a reward for anyone who knows who these people are. you can see them getting into one of his cars. we don't know if they took anything. a new report shows milwaukee county is on pace for a record number of heroin and opioid overdose deaths this year.217 are recorded so far. another 55 deaths are pendin toxicology tests.the milwaukee common council will take up a proposal today to create a city- county heroin and opioid task force to study the problem. a first of a kind drug mail in initiative will be announced today. it's a partnership between the city of milwaukee... c-v-c... and the drug mail back program. the goal is to help people safely get rid of their unused medications so they don't end up in the wrong hands. a milwaukee man is convicted in the overdose death of a

crenshaw'' gave 18-year-old ''caleb ford'' heroin and other drugs last october.hours later he was found dead-- crenshaw faces up to 25 years in prison--he'll be sentenced in january-- city officials estimate that some 70-thousand milwaukee homes are in need of lead lateral replacements. until that's done, the offering free filters to people who live in homes with those laterals.more than 500 hundred people lined-up to get a water filter at kosciuszko park wednesday night.but more than half of them walked away empty-handed. there just weren't enough to meet demand. 18:19:43 i don't know if handing out filters is enough. i i'd like to there's a plan to pipes to our not something are going to the standing rock protests
