new this morning, the transportation security administration found a record number of firearms at airport checkpoints last year. more than 26 hundred guns were found. that's a 20 percent increase from 2014. to put that into perspective -- that's an average of seven firearms found per day last year. t-s-a says the number of firearms detected in u-s airports at checkpoints has climbed steadily since 2005. we are less than two weeks away from the iowa caucuses.. a new c-n-n poll shows democratic candidate bernie sanders is ahead of hillary clinton by eight points in iowa. it's a big difference from when this poll was last taken. sanders was behind clinton by 18 points. on the republican side, donald trump now has a double digit lead in iowa. the poll shows trump at 37 percent followed by ted cruz at 26 percent. it's a problem no family wants to have.

drivers say from raging passengers to a recent cut in fares, they've taken a lot of hits lately, and its been mainly to their wallets. uber slashed the mileage rate in the bay area from 95 cents to 65 cents on january 9th. the company insists it's to increase demand in a typically slow time for ridership, but drivers don't buy it. we caught up with a driver, getting paid 16 dollars, for an hour long ride from north tampa to the lightning game. with the busy gasparilla parade next saturday, uber drivers are considering protesting passenger pick-ups. the gasparilla season kicks off this weekend! thousands will line up for children's gaparilla
