i'm allison kropff. and i'm ian reitz. right now, federal offices are closed in dc... and hundreds of flights across the country are still cancelled after the winter storm that pummeled the east coast. the big dig out could take days...but millions of americans will be going back to work today or trying to catch a flight in spite of the elements. 10news reporter mark rivera is live at tampa international airport. hundreds of people stranded in tampa over the weekend are just looking for a new flight to get home. many of the people i spoke to at t i a had just gotten back from a cruise to belize and mexico over the weekend with their flight to get home cancelled leaving them with no place to go here in tampa. those folks are going to be out in full force today and take a look at the arrival departure board... not too bad...only a handful of flights

the hundreds of folks turned away over the weekend be able to get a flight back home now. this is after the huge snow storm that ripped across the north east at that ripped across the north east at times with hurricane some of the areas hit hardest... new york, philldelphia, washington dc, charlotte north carolina...with record breaking snowfall. that's where we're seeing the highest concentration of cancellations because of the sheer volume of snow... folks working their hardest to dig out... at least 30 people dead across the country. washington dc still at a standstill this morning federal offices will be closed. other travelers stranded at the airport now...just want to get home. flying across the country today will still be messy after 12-thousand flights were cancelled since friday. only about 13- hundred cancellations nationwide today. the good news... here are the only issues i've found today here at t i a because of all of 2 cancellations to because of all of 2 cancellations to newark...

ground. deputies say tips have been pouring in, but so far there has been no confirmed sightings. with one week left until the iowa caucus, the race for the white house is heating up! hillary clinton, bernie sanders, and martin o'malley will debate one more time in a town hall at drake university in iowa. it begins at 9:00 tonight. sanders is currently ahead in the polls in iowa. clinton says if sanders wins in that her campaign has the advantage in other early primary states. new video just released by the shows the nine carried out the committing other violent acts in syria. here is from those attacks that killed november. the new isis video shows the extent of paris attacks. it also shows britain and prime minister david cameron.

beheading and shooting their prisoners. developing this morning out of plant city. police are investigating a possible homicide. they say family members found 36- year old-reginald brown dead inside his home on east ohio street. they believe he was shot. we don't have a lot of information this morning. once we find out more, we will update you here on 10 news this morning and online at w-t-s-p dot com. right now, manatee county deputies are searching for two men suspected in a deadly shooting. they want you take a take a good look at these surveillance photos. deputies say the images show two men running from the scene of a shooting in bradenton from saturday night. deputies say 31- year-old charles lehnert was shot and killed after a fight in the parking lot of a lawn equipment store on 15th street east. investigators say the suspects were seen driving off in a red s-u-v with chrome trim. a team of investigators will inspect debris that could be linked to the to the malaysia airlines flight that vanished almost two years ago. they'll look at a piece of curved white metal found on the southern coast of thailand.

found by a fisherman. a report indicates the serial number belongs to a boeing 777. that's the same model as m-h-370...but there has not been any official confirmation whether the debris is from the same aircraft. flight m-h-370 disappeared nearly two years ago after taking off from kuala lumpur to beijing with 239 people aboard. airline officials are working to get over a hundred passengers to milan after their plane was diverted to canada. the american airlines jet left from miami but was rerouted when it encountered severe turbulence and seven people were hurt. paramedics and fire crews met the plane on the tarmac to take those people to the hospital. if you're a big fan of gasparilla, don't miss this story. as you know, there's just a few more days until the gasparilla pirate fest. and chances are you'll be seeing a lot more tourists this year. that's because the city is making a big push to get people from around the country and the world to take part in the fun. 10 news reporter emerald morrow is

water crisis in flint, michigan is expected today. that tops our look at headlines around the nation and the world in 60 seconds. michigan attorney general bill schuette is expected to hold a news conference today on the investigation into the water crisis in flint. schuette said in january he would see if any michigan laws were violated in the process that left the city's drinking water contaminated with lead. a detroit judge will hold a hearing today that could force the city's teachers to end their sick-out. detroit teachers have been protesting pay, class sizes and building conditions. they plan to protest again outside the state of michigan building before the judge hears arguments. the carolina panthers and the denver broncos will face off in super bowl 50. quarterback cam newton will lead the panthers against five-time m-v-p peyton manning in the big game. the match-up was decided when the panthers took out the arizona cardinals and the broncos beat the new england patriots on sunday. you can watch the super bowl right here on cbs on

world's oceans. a new report has a warning about our world's oceans. it says we are on track to have more plastic than fish in the oceans by 2050. use of plastic has increased 20-fold in

century, and it's expected to double again in the next 20 years. right now we dump the equivalent of one garbage truck's worth into the ocean every minute. the report projects that to increase to four per minute by 2050. experts believe there are 165 million tons of plastic in the oceans today. check out this new video from virginia! normally you would see the washington redskins indoor training facility here, but now it's flattened and covered in snow. the dome, air- filled structure deflated from the weight of the snow during the weekend blizzard. the team's website says the facility will be re-inflated once the snow is cleared and weather conditions improve. one family is especially grateful for touch-screen technology after their four-year-old saved his mom. when chadwick depew's mom went unconscious while on the phone, her husband tried calling the home, but no one answered. that's when he called the tablet, and guess who answered? little chadwick was able to let emergency responders in the house to save his mom.
