good morning and welcome to 10 news this morning. i'm allison kropff. and i'm ian reitz. we're on top of that breaking news in lutz. both directions of i-275 are shutdown right now, just north of bearss avenue, after a deadly crash. 10 news reporter emerald morrow is live there. emerald, tell us what you know. this is a very serious crash - and as you can see, there's a large response effort - investigators have been out here for hours trying to figure out what happened - but all you have to do is take a look at this pic to see just how

just look at this van - we're told it was driving along south suddenly stopped - behind it to crash right into it... - and that made the van burst right into flames...killing the person inside we don't know anything about who that person is... investigators need to talk to the family first before giving us a name we'll keep you posted as soon as we have more information live along 275, emerald morrow, 10 news, wtsp.

yes, disney says the suits misrepresent facts. but the employees claim disney is looking to save money by replacing american workers with immigrants. and it's not just the two filing suit-- 250 tech workers were dismissed from the giant entertainment company. two americans leo perrero and dena moore both filed class-action lawsuits in federal court in tampa this week. the suits say disney consulting cognizant --- knowingly brought to replace americans, despite ratings. the workers claim the companies colluded to break the law by using temporary visas to bring in immigrant workers. perrero's lawyer in sarasota claims disney lied under oath saying no americans would lose their jobs. disney is vigorously denying the accusations, saying it requires its

all laws. adding that all but 95 of the tech workers laid off in orlando were rehired to other positions or moved on voluntarily. in the studio, sarah hollenbeck, 10news wtsp a lockdown at a north carolina college is lifted this morning after reports of a gunman on campus. it happened monday night at winston salem state university. police say someone showed a gun on campus, but no shots were fired and no one was hurt. police did a sweep of the campus and didn't find the gunman. new this morning, president obama is proposing a plan to expand retirement plans. he'll reveal the proposal to congress next month. the plan would allow about 30 million american workers to have access to retirement obama says part of the plan will give companies that enroll employees in plans. a health alert the spread of the zika virus. affected more than a countries and is expected to spread. zika has been linked to birth

right now.. women in brazil and colombia have been asked to avoid getting pregnant. 13 people are safe this morning thanks to the quick rescue of the coast guard. take a look at this video. this is about 13 miles off the coast of fort lauderdale. a yacht started taking on water at about 6:00 monday night and sank less than two hours later. rescuers say a mechanical issue may have led to the problem. rescuers say the boaters were lucky that it happened so close to shore making it easier for them to be rescued. pirates are hoping to take over the city of tampa today! the captain of ye mystic krewe of gasparilla has demanded to meet with mayor bob buckhorn at noon in downtown to negotiate a peaceful surrender of the city. if mayor buckhorn does not surrender the "key to the city" and negotiations are not met, the pirates will return for this saturday's

we're putting news back in the morning... with nearly 27 inches of snow, new york city got a little help from the sun to melt some of it away. but all that melting is causing dangerous conditions for people on the roads and sidewalks. piles of snow created slush- covered sidewalks and corners as it melted, causing walkers and runners to slosh through and jump over icy puddles. frigid overnight temperatures will lead to refreezing almost every night this week, making all that water and slush turn into ice. with the iowa caucus less than a

for the white house is heating up between both parties. the democratic candidates faced-off in a debate monday night. bernie sanders and hillary clinton were each forced to watch each other's t-v advertisements and react. both candidates were quick to defend their ads in a race that has been deemed as too close to call. president obama is banning the use of solitary confinement to punish juveniles in federal prisons. he says isolating prisoners can lead to long term problems. he says solitary confinement will only be used as a last resort when a prisoner becomes a danger to themselves or others. 10 thousand prisoners will be affected by the new policy. the search continues today for three escaped inmates in california that tops your headlines around the nation and the world in your 60 second scan... security experts believe the trio may have had help with their escape plan from someone working inside the jail. the inmates, who have been gone since friday, sawed through a metal gate, crawled through plumbing tunnels, and rappelled to the ground with bed linens. they are
