kropff. and i'm ian reitz. happening today-- early voting begins in nearly every county in the bay area. that means you can cast your ballot early, and beat the lines. 10news reporter sarah hollenbeck is live at the mid- florida credit union amphitheatre where donald trump will hold a rally tonight. sarah, regardless who you vote for, election supervisors have a warning. yes, we're all so used to taking selfies and updating our social media pages..and we're all going to want to brag about voting. but-- you absolutely don't want to take any selfies with your filled out ballot-- it's actually
you're not allowed to pose for a selfie with a ballot that's filled out. the laws are mixed depending on where you go. federal judges have struck down bans on ballot selfies in states like new hampshire and indiana. but, right here in florida it could get you in trouble. the spokesperson at pinellas supervisor of elections says there's nothing wrong with posing with an "empty" ballot. but, it's safe to say you a selfie with your i- voted sticker. the only two counties who won't have an early voting option starting today: pasco and highlands counties. in 30 minutes---i'm digging into this-- did you know your vote counts a lot more here in florida, compared to other states? i'll explain why-- at 6. allison....
out shows hillary clinton leading trump by three points in florida. trump is ahead by only 3 points in the usually red state of texas. as trump continues his campaign in florida today, clinton is going back to new hampshire where she'll hold a rally with senator elizabeth warren. on thursday, clinton heads back to north carolina where she'll campaign alongside first lady michelle obama for the first time. before that, clinton will be visiting hillsborough county on wednesday. on top of choosing the next president, in two in florida will decide if medical marijuana should be legal in the state. 10news reporter emerald morrow is live in downtown st. pete this morning. emerald, it's not just voters here paying attention to this amendment... people in other states say they'll pick up and move if it passes. yeah, we talked to a woman in georgia who is already scouting out places to live here in the bay area... and as early voting kicks off today, she desperately wants to see voters pass amendment 2 to legalize medical
rose ter-la-hee says cannabis oil has been the only thing to help her autistic son from hurting himself. and she's counting on voters to help her get access to the drug so her son can have a better life. she might be in luck if voters follow the current poll trends. a recent poll on amendment 2 shows more than 70 percent of voters will say yes to legalizing medical marijuana here in florida... and those in nearby states where it's still illegal are ready to pick up and move. real estate agents say they've seen similar trends in other places. they say after colorado legalized marijuana...propert y values went up in some parts of the state by 10 percent. we know that amendment 2 would make it easier to get medical marijuana...but what are the
for you, coming up at 6:30. back to you. investigators in north carolina are looking into what may have started a riot inside of a prison. one staff member and one inmate were taken to the hospital after two separate fires started. the fire are out right now and the facility is back to being secure. the correctional institution is a low-security facility. it was evacuated two weeks ago due to flooding from hurricane matthew. a tragic story out of washington statis investigation to figure out what caused a house fire where a three year-old boy and his dog were killed. a neighbor called 9-1-1 when he saw flames coming out of the house. fire crews in that area say this was one of the hardest fires they've ever responded to. they found the boy huddled with his dog, who stayed by his side. several others
the home, including other young children. fire crews say the home did not have working smoke detectors. a crime alert in manatee county this morning after an odd break-in at a popular shopping center. deputies say four men wearing halloween masks broke into this puma store at ellenton premium outlets mall. it happened early sunday morning.. the group ran into the store...stayed inside for about a minute...and then ran out with shoes and clothes. you may or may not age halloween, but take a look at this. manatee county animal services is teaming up with forget me not rescue to get these dogs and cats new homes. you don't have to pay adoption fees in the days leading up to halloween at the bradenton and palmetto shelters. hurricane nicole never hit the u-s.. but the east coast is seeing some effects of the storm. last week, hundreds of baby turtles washed up on space coast beaches.

stories. just fifteen days to the general election. hillary clinton and donald trump are stepping up their efforts in key states with trump making a stop in tampa tonight. he'll be at the mid florida credit union amphitheatre at 7:00. after making 4 stops in north carolina sunday, clinton campaigns with massachusetts senator elizabeth warren in new hampshire today. a cbs news poll shows clinton leading trump by three points in the sunshine state and almost tied with the republican nominee state of texas. voters in most bay area counties don't have to wait two weeks to make their choice for president. early voting has begun in all bay area counties except pasco and highlands. those begin on saturday, october 29th. in pinellas county.. the elections office was open over the weekend accepting mail in ballots. they say 37 percent of those ballots have already been returned. florida is considered one of the most critical states in this election.
people moving here.. especially this time of year. if amendment 2 passes in november, that number could grow even more 10 news talked with this family who is looking to move for medical marijuana. right now they live in georgia, but they were in the bay area this weekend to find an apartment. their son is autistic and hits himself violently. they say high t- h-c cannabis oil helps him stop hurting himself. remember two years ago the medical marijuana amendment failed to pass by just two percent. lauren and corey rexroad decided to get a little creative on their first anniversary. you need to know -- they say they spend a lot of time in target...working on decorating their home. so...to celebrate year one...they went to target to recreate their wedding photos.
lot ot do in their hometown of morgantown, west virginia. target appears to have welcomed the couple. they shared the pictures on social media as well. this is a cute story this morning. animal control officers in charlotte, north carolina have been helping animals in need after flooding hit the area. after they finished feeding a group of dogs they noticed one running behind their truck. the officers pulled over and saw this little brown dog. from the dog's behavior they knew he wasn't a stray. the dog was
