amendment 5 is pretty simple. do you want to give a tax break to help the most vulnerable in your community. amendment 5 is pretty simple. do you want to give a tax break to help low income seniors? a yes vote means a person who is 65 or older, makes less than 20-thousand dollars, and has a house valued at no more than 250- thousand dollars can get a break on their property taxes. once they apply - the tax break is fixed for that home value. so, even if their home value increases those seniors will still get a tax break. this is only for cities and counties that have already adopted the or they have no one eligible for the tax break right now...and only had a handful last year. in pasco - they haven't even adopted the ordinance, so no one there is eligible either. but in hillsborough about 45-hundred seniors could benefit. a vote no would make low income seniors re-apply every year for their tax break and could mean some would be priced out of the exemption if their property value increases. we know it's important to you to understand what you're voting on. we're making it easier to understand what all the amendments mean. you can check out mark's breakdown of all of them up for your vote on w-t-s-p dot com and on the free 10 news app. if you're ready to get your holiday shopping done, you don't have to wait until black friday to score some great deals. 10news reporter emerald morrow is live at westshore plaza in tampa. emerald, some retailers are offering deals as early as next week. yeah, and this has
