news this morning. i'm allison kropff. and i'm ian reitz. election day is finally here. and right now, the department of homeland security says "all hands are on deck" to protect our election from a cyber attack. 10news reporter sarah hollenbeck is live at a polling place in davis islands. sarah, one big concern today--is how many international eyes

yes, the biggest threat being russia. american officials are worried russia will use its cyber capabilities to try to disrupt the presidential election itself, possibly by releasing fake documents and creating bogus social media accounts designed to spread misinformation. the government is so concerned about a possible cyber hack, that the department of homeland security, justice department, fbi, pentagon, and cia have all

staff to hunt for possible threats. and-- for the first time, hundreds of military and intelligence cyber experts who work out of top secret facilities, including underground bunkers, will be keeping our election safe from hackers. the fbi says they're worried russia will use its cyber capabilities to try to releasing fake documents and creating bogus social media accounts designed to spread misinformation. so, what does all that mean for you? one local u-s-f cyber security expert says don't let it change your mind about getting the good news is voting machines aren't connected to the internet, so there's only an extremely slim chance hackers could alter the outcome of today's election....but the big fear is they could try to hack the results and change what's sent

are toss ups...where races are considered close. according to usa today -- those states account for 95 electoral votes you need 270 to win. florida is toss up. our polls close at 7pm locally... the prize if you win florida -- 29 electoral votes. north carolina -- 15 electoral votes. romney carried it in 2012. according to this map -- ohio, along with iowa, wisconsin, arizona and neda other states to watch. while voters across the country prepare to head to polls today, hillary clinton and donald trump both made their final pitch to voters in key states overnight. clinton campaigned at a star-studded event with the help of celebrity friends lady gaga and bon jovi: trump held his own midnight rally in the battleground state of michigan, a democratic leaning state he's eyeing to turn red today.

right now we know that trump will spend election night in a new york city hotel, not far from his trump tower hotel. clinton will also be in new york city, her headquarters will be at a convention center. some votes are already in this morning. fewer than 100 people in new hampshire became the first in the u-s to cast their ballots. in three new hampshire towns with midnight voting, trump 32 to 25 votes. and with just a couple of hours until the polls open here in tampa bay, we're looking into concerns some of you might have about the security of your vote. 10news reporter emerald morrow is live outside the polls in downtown st. pete. emerald, there have been some documented problems with mail-in ballots across the state that has some people being extra cautious. yes, there have been some issues in other places of the state where amendment 2 was left off of some voters' mail-in

remember to be respectful and responsible. vice president joe biden got a little help during his campaign rally for hilary clinton in st. pete. it was a packed house at albert whitted park on monday as jimmy buffett took the stage. buffet wasn't the only entertainer for clinton on monday. like we mentioned, jon bon jovi and lady gaga, bruce springsteen and madonna all performed at different rallies. if you need a ride to the polls, you can go for free. public transportation buses will be offering free rides to polling places in hillsborough, pinellas and pasco counties from 7 a-m until when the polls close at 7 p-m. all you need to do is a show a valid voter information card to get on a bus. here's something sweet for you on this election day. after you go vote, head to krispy kreme to get a free donut.

voted" sticker, you can walk out with a donut. we will have more election day deals, coming up in 30 minutes. new information this morning on the search for a mystery monkey in tampa bay. wildlife officials have been tracking the monkey for over a week. the latest sighting was on monday afternoon in pinellas park north of park boulevard near 55th street. wildlife officials tranquilized the monkey but now they can't find it. if you remember the search for tampa bay's first mystery monkey went on for nearly four years. it's believed this from the same place up near the silver springs area. local trapper vernon yates is trying to locate and capture him. yates says you should not try to feed or befriend yates says you should not try to feed or befriend this monkey. if you spot the animal you're urged to call fwc. one man has

story to tell. he was fishing a few miles out of boca grande pass, about 30 miles from port charlotte when his line caught a massive grouper. check out this video posted by big bully outdoors. at one point the fish switched direction, and that pulled him into the water. he didn't let that stop him, he got right back up and pulled that big guy up. up. as you can see, he was pretty happy with his catch. an investigation is underway this morning to figure out what caused dozens of kids to get sick at a south florida preschool. coming up, what health officials believe is to blame. but first, can you imagine being on this flight? these passengers basically felt like they were in the movie, "snakes on a plane." more of
