this morning to start their week. there is a "lake effect snow warning" in several counties through seven p-m tonight. some areas could see seven to 14 inches of snow and high winds causing low visibility. people there are being asked to stay inside if possible. folks there have mixed reactions to the november snowfall. butted to plows have been working all night to clear what snow they can. keep in mind -- temperatures in the teens means that some of that snow has likely frozen over. and take a look at this video out of ohio -- this is near cleveland off of lake erie. strong wind gusts caused damage to trees and powerlines. a massive tree fell on the home of this family in bay village. luckily no one was hurt. some gusts of up to 40 miles per hour were recorded.
tough day for law enforcement across the country. three officers were shot on sunday. one of them died. the two others, including one officer from the sanibel police department, are recovering. sanibel is just southwest of fort myers beach. officer jarred ciccone was shot in the shoulder during a traffic stop. police say the suspect drove by the officer and shot him while he was with another driver. he was in his patrol car at the time. the suspect was taken into custody. in missouri, a police sergeant is in the hospital right now after being shot in south st. louis. police say the suspect, who is still on the run, pulled up next to the officer's marked car and shot him. he was able to call for help after the shooting. in san antonio, the search is still going on to find the person who shot and killed a texas detective. police say 20- year veteran detective benjamin marconi was writing a traffic ticket outside the police headquarters when he was ambushed. the san antonio police department believes a surveillance photo captured a picture of the suspect. right now they do not have a motive.
thoughts on our facebook page about this next story. a firefighter died after trying to rescue several people who fell from a collapsed ferry ramp into the savannah river. you can see in this cell phone video people scrambling to get out of the water. crews say firefighter michael curry was in the middle of helping people when he died. others from the community saw what was going on and jumped in to help until first responders came. as of right now, the exact cause into curry's death has not been released. no word this morning on what could have caused the ramp to collapse. right now the pasco county sheriff's office is dealing with some criticism after one of its facebook posts got a lot of attention. 10news reporter emerald morrow is live in the newsroom this morning. the department
humiliating picture. and emerald, there are some questions over whether this was right. yeah, we'll leave that question up to you at home to decide. but this is the picture that's causing all the controversy. the pasco county sheriff's office posted it on its page...and it shows officials photographing the man while pulling his hair to hold him, despite him already being handcuffed. we blurred his face because of the controversial nature of the post...and also because this is not an deputies say they arrested the man during a traffic stop after they said he ran a deputy off the road and was also found with a bunch of drugs...including meth, weed, mdma and prescription pills. if the suspect is indeed proven to be guilty, i think most people would agree he deserves whatever sentence he gets. but the question a lot of you have is, 'was this post appropriate?' we got a lot of responses from you all on facebook...cyntthia johnson said, 'he did the crime. and, lost his right to dignity at the
