monitoring. court records show he has multiple dc addresses an criminal rap sheet dating back to 2011 most shoplifting incidents where johnson plead guilty. however, less than a week before tricia disappeared, a judge ordered johnson to wear a gps monitoring device. he was supposed to show up the next morning here but there's no record he ever did. police say while johnson was in possession of mccauley's car the day after she went missing, johnson once again stole from a dc cvs store. meanwhile, the medical examiner's office says the flicks-year-old was strangled to death. family and friends gathered together to say good-bye >> what happened to tricia thrown me for a loop. i don't know what to think. there's a lot of things happening in

we need to pay attention to. >> reporter: records show the court has requested johnson undergo multiple mental health screenings to determine competence in those previous cases he's been ordered to attend drug rehab, a series of times. live in northwest, anjali hemphill fox news. police are on the hunt for two robbers. those men pulled out their guns and stole cash. this happened in the 500 block of the car likely street. no one was injured. also a northeast family asking for justice that i say police body camera video was unarmed when fatally shot. annie yu joining us in northwest dc with the latest on this story, good morning, annie. good morning maureen, steve. the family of 29 injured general hall disputes what police are

saying what happened christmas day. the film was able to watch the body camera video yesterday and they say their loved one was not armed with a weapon. not armed with a knife, and say that police dispute what the police are saying happened on that day and now, the family is seeking justice. we know that on christmas day, the police got a call out to the 3200 block of walnut street northeast. that is where police responded for a domestic disturbance call involving hall and his girlfriend when they arrived, police say hall was armed with a knife. he ignored officers' verbal commands directing him to drop the weapon. at least one officer discharged their service weapon striking hall. according to police, hall's weapon was recovered on scene. that weapon now at the center of the controversy. we spoke to hall's mother yesterday, anjali. take a listen to what she has to. >> none of that video showed nothing about him waving a knife. they shot him dead. they told the girl move, move, move out the way.

that was it. i don't feel like my son deserved none of this. all i'm saying is police officer shot him we want justice. >> reporter: now, the family is planning a vigil this friday at 7:00 at the scene of the shooting on walnut street. they tell us hall would have celebrated his 30th birthday on friday. family also tells us he leaves behind four children and was a five-year navy veteran. as for the officers involved, we know at least one of the officers is now on administrative leave pending the investigation. we also reached out to dc police regarding the family's claim and have yet to receive a response. latest from police headquarters in northwest dc annie yu fox 5 local news. 2016 coming to a close with some statistics about dc crime, there's 9% decrease in violent crimes in the district. includes an 18% decline in homicides from

it is a cooler day than yesterday but not bad. we're talking 43 right now. weather traffic coming up on the 5's at 6:35. let's take a look at our top story, a large crowd gathered to remember tricia mccauley a local yoga instructor found dead in her car earlier after going missing christmas day. police arrested adrian duane johnson charging her with murder. she was strangled to death and to appears to have been sexual assaulted. a northeast dc family asking for justice after they say body body camera video shows gerald hall unarmed when he was shot and killed by a dc police officer on christmas day. police say hall had a knife and refused to put it

people growing up. there was a strong female character that you had on screen, and generations and generations of fans have loved this character throughout the years. she was 19 years old when she first filmed the first star wars movie. second feature film, first one was warren beatty's shampoo. the beauty of her, she was not just princess leia. she was also an incredible writer. she was a script doctor. she fixed scrips for people in hollywood. she also wrote an amazing book that was turned into a screen play post cards from the edge that merrill industry's starred in. the voice of angela and family guy. the cool thing is, that her work will live on forever. as i'm anybody can go home and put star wars on. she did complete her episode eight sequences, she she will be featured in the new studios film thankfully. if you have seen rogue war, i don't want to spoil it but there's a little part of her in the film if you want to see the new.
