'cause showers are coming across. this is a substantial cold front. we were almost 80 today t no no 80's in the forecast. talking real fall like for the next several days. details to come. erin como. >> right now they have moved that overturned vehicle over. they're letting the left shoulder squeeze by. the latest on that. >> thank you. new this morning at 4:30 the woman from maryland who was shot in the eye during the las vegas massacre continues making progress back if her home state. >> this comes as family and friends of tina frost work to raise money for her recovery. melanie alnwick live with the latest. >> reporter: tina frost was able to come home on a medical flight to maryland. she's now at johns hopkins hospital in baltimore where she's continuing her treatment. now, over t

process. family reports that tina started to wake up on friday opening her left eye a bit able to tap her feet to music or giving a thumbs up. tina was able to walk three steps to a chair and back breathing on her own for several hours at a time. her sister posted on friday that she was able to goof around with tina and a little teddy bear. she wrote tina was able to hold it pat it on the back and give it a little kiss. with her transfer tina will be closer to a strong support network back home. last night friends in odenton got together for another fundraiser. they say they're on team tina for as long as they're needed. >> we don't know how much the medical bills are going to cost so we just want to keep raising money for her and just show her that we are fighting here for her and showing our support. >> reporter: tina frost was a star soccer player for arundel high school girls soccer teams from all over the country as you're about to s

have been wearing wristband honoring tina and donating money to her fight to survive. tina lost her right eye in the shooting and doctors had to remove a bullet from her head. the family had no idea what sort of brain damage tina might have. she's still going to need many surgeries to deal with so many challenges ahead but so far really remarkable progress in the last two weeks. wisdom, maureen. >> thank you mel. closer to home police are searching for the suspects connected to a shooting in the university of maryland. on saturday night one student was shot and the second was assaulted at a home on rhode island avenue. both victims are expected to recover. anyone with information is being asked to call the police. >> time now is 4:32. the fbi and d.c. police are asking for your help in finding this 11-year-old d.c. girl. take a really good look at your screen right now. she was last seen on sunday. she's from pomeroy road in southeast. she was last known to be wearing a purple shirt black pants

call police if you see her. >> a silver alert issued for this missing man in gaithersburg. police say 69-year-old he was last seen at seneca creek park. family members believe he may be in the initial stages of dementia. he was last seen driving a vehicle with maryland tags 6cj8753. anyone with information about his whereabouts should call police. >> ♪ >> time is 4:33. turning to politics a federal trial challenging the trump travel ban begins today in greenbelt. the latest version of the plan blocks travel to the u.s. from six muslim majority countries. the groups challenging the ban want the judge to issue a preliminary injunction. the council on american-islamic relations and other civil rights organizations will hold a press conference in front of that courthouse after today's hearing. a former contestant on the apprentice is coming

accusing president trump of unwanted groping. she claims the president kissed and groped her on his reality show back if 2007. she's suing the president's campaign for all documents that his team has about any harassment or assault allegations. several other women have accused president trump of groping them as well. president trump has denied those allegations. >> lawmakers clashing over healthcare reform. democrats approve president trump of trying to sabotage the affordable care act but republicans say he's pushing for a hard bargain. this show down will likely come to me ahead in december in the negotiations over federal funding which could risk a government shutdown. >> it's 4:34. you only have a few hours left to enter for a chance to win tickets to this year's national christmas tree lighting. free tickets for the event are awarded through an online lottery. the lottery closes at 10:00 a.m. today.

the league colluded to keep him out of the league because of his national anthem protest. kaepernick's lawyer released a statement saying the grievance was filed only after pursuing every possible avenue with all nfl teams and their executives. he opted out of his contract with the 49ers at the end of last season and remains a free agent. member of the pussycat dolls has some shocking allegations. jones says the ban band was a front for a prostitution ring. jones says the singers were passed around by music executives and told that they would not have a career if they objected. the founder of the group says jones is lying. pussycat dolls sold 53 million records worldwide before breaking up in 2010. green bay packers quarterback aaron rodgers jersey may be out for the season. vikings linebacker anthony bar grove rogers into the ground as the

releasing a pass. halloween costumes.com is pulling its anne frank girls costume after major pushback features a long blue dress a shoulder bag and a green beret. the description described frank as an inspiration and a world war ii heroism the company released a statement saying they sell costumes for halloweens but also for school projects and plays. they apologize is the costume offended. changes are coming to the island of odor. the makers of thomas the tank engine want the program to become more gender balanced. they plan to introduce more female train and another black train. >> my neff ne nephew is like a s the tin

we're going to have widespread 40's and maybe even a couple of 30's out there this week. in the suburbs not here. new york city right now sitting at 66 degrees. sunshine this afternoon. it will be breezy, very fall-like this week, too. here's erin como on this so far wet morning commute. >> and you you know what happens when there's rain monday morning we're already dealing with big problems. taking a look at 270 southbound the left lane is squeezing by. previously all lanes blocked 270 by 109. there's a big crash scene involving an overturned vehicle. big delays already from 80 to 109. that's the majority of the delay. you can still hop off and take, say, 355 to get around that but look at that delay already. 270 southbound from 70 to 121 is going to take you 44 minutes. make sure you give yourself extra time. once you get to the beltway this is the outer loop by connecticut looking good. you're quiet on the inner loop as well. it's 50 inbound from bowie. we're seeing a disabled vehicle on the shoulder. 95 southbound just before aquia. any questions at erin fox5 d.c. on

university. on saturday officers lined the streets of lubbock texas to pay their respects to officer floyd east. east arrested 19-year-old hollis daniels for drug possession. during processing at the police station daniels pulled out a gun and started shooting. he's charged with capitol murder. officer east's memorial service and funeral takes place tomorrow. >> fbi joining the investigation into a suspicious device found at a civil war reenactment in virginia. it was found in middletown in frederick coin. thcounty. there were no reported injuries. comes after the cedar creek battlefield foundation posted a message on its web site saying it has received a written threat. organizers beefed up security in response. >> this halloween season it's tractor-trailering that a horror flick is topping the box office. happy death day is number one right now. the ground hog day like film beat expectations bringing in $26.5 million and it

$5 million to make so they're winning right now. >> i've never heard of it. >> i never heard of it. >> happy death bay. >> day. >> it's kind of like the blare witch project from years ago. >> yeah. >> that's the way it goes. good morning, gary mcgrady. >> showers out this morning. there's a front coming through so we've reached our -- well, i think we'll get a little bit warmer out there in some cases today but cooler air is coming down so temperatures won't move much off what they are now. 63 here in town. gaithersburg 60. dulles 61 and manassas 62 degrees. i want to show you we do have showers coming on across. this is all along a frontal system. a fairly substantial front because once it comes through, it really sets the stage for cooler temperatures and really, really nice weather this week. good showers there for upper marlboro. just south of bowie and then over towards annapolis and anne arrundel county. you can pull this back just a little bit you can see the larger picture here with satellite. it will be awhile

start getting sunshine this morning but we will and we'll dry out. get the early showers passing through. otherwise cool and breezy. winds will be out of the northwest at about 10 to 20 miles per hour, gusty, too, and temperatures, pretty steady lower to mid 60's. then we drop off overnight. cool weather coming. here's erin como with a look at your wet monday morning commute. >> you said it. big problems already. overturned vehicle 270 southbound right lane right shoulder blocked for that cleanup and investigation. left lane get buying. now previously all lanes were blocked. because we're still dealing with a really big scene we're seeing big slowdowns coming from 70 to 109. as we look at those drive times close to an hour to get from 70 to 121 on 270 southbound. you may want to hop off and take 355. now the outer loop of the beltway behind the drive times headlights coming towards us past connecticut avenue. traffic is picking up in terms of volume. watch for slick spots. the inner loop still looks really nice. bottom side of the beltway by the wilson bridge and 50 in
