3 making headlines in north florida: a tragedy in jacksonville... after a 22-month-old boy was shot and killed, during a drive-by shooting. and there is now a big reward, to find his killer. 3 the shooting happened on the city's east side friday was in a car with his mother and grandmother when someone shot at them. the boy was the only one hit. police dont' believe he was the intended target... they think the shooter meant to hit someone in the house the car was parked by. so far.. there have been no arrests..
3 detectives have not released much so far... other than it was a white vehicle, with *several people inside. there is now a information that leads to an arrest. 3 detectives in central florida are also investigating a series of car burglaries. and it appears tourists were targeted. nearly 50 cars were ransacked at a hotel in the heart of the tourist district. it happneed at the country inn and suites on universal boulevard. cars at two other hotel lots on international drive were also hit. police are advising tourists not to leave valuables in their cars. 3 in gainesville... police are investigating the accidential *death of a student. 20-year-old "chance wolf" died early sunday morning, after falling from the sixth floor balcony at his apartment complex. wolf was a student at the nearby university of florida. the school sent out an email to students offering counseling services to anyone who needs them. police do *not believe foul play was involved. chance's father says his son was trying to pursue a journalism degree.
3 today in palm harbor: a church will be rising from the ashes. the "saints raphael, nicholas, and irene orthodox church" burned down more than a year ago. and this is a look at the damage. church leaders vowed to rebuild... and today there will be a groundbreaking for their brand new church. it will seat 200 people and cost more than a million dollars. for the past year, the churchgoers have been setup in a temporary church, in a nearby shopping center. 3 those churchgoers definitely feel god was watching over them that night. the church was made famous by it's collection of holy greek relics. and even though the church burned down... the relics were *not damaged. 3 3 the gulf of mexico is getting a health checkup today. an international conference on the gulf of mexico oil spill is meeting at the tampa convention center. u-s-f researchers will play a huge role in the event, which runs through thursday. scientists from all over the world will share their research and discoveries out in the gulf... to see how the waters and the sealife have recovered since that deepwater
3 and speaking of cleaning up... did you know the bay area's *biggest party of the year, just took place along bayshore boulevard? it sure doesn't *look like it today. nearly one hundred volunteers showed up sunday with the florida aquarium to clean up the trash... from the gasparilla invasion. they pulled strands of beads from palm trees, gathered empty beer bottles and some volunteers even worked to they say what's left behind will eventually end up in the water and could harm animals. volunteers also say most of the debris they collected will be recycled. 3 and later today, tampa police will give us a final number, on how many *arrests were made during gasparilla. their *preliminary count showed about 21 misdemeanor arrests... most involing drugs or alcohol. just two felony arrests. one person

antarctica, where temperatures were below zero. once that race was completed, the runners flew to chile to compete in the south american leg. the next day's race saw the challengers fly on to an overcast miami, where they ran again. they also ran in marathons in spain, morocco, dubai and australia. 3 17 3 when all was said and done, the runners traveled around 24- 3 thousand miles... and ran a
