deputies in central florida are investigating a central florida deputies in central florida are investigating a break-in... and a shooting. but the man who opened fire... was actually the homeowner. investigators say the whole thing happened around eleven saturday night in oviedo... in seminole county. the homeowner told deputies he heard someone breaking into a back office at his home. then, his dogs kept barking about something outside and he saw somone brea deputies say the man shot the intruder ?three times. neighbors say they're not used to this sort of activity on this quiet street: butted the other man was taken to the hospital, but no word on his condition. the seminole county sheriff's office is still investigating. a scary scene in orlando sunday: an accident

inside... a mother and her child! crews worked for over an hour to ?carefully pull the car back upright. first responders also freed the 27 year old woman and her six year old son from the wreckage. the mother and son were taken to the hospital to be checked out.. but we're told they'll be okay. a popular pinellas county teacher has been laid to rest. 34-year-old caroline sine was in a car crash... dying from her her boyfriend... ?another local teacher... survived the crash. family, friends, and students came out sunday to pay their respects at the pinellas park performing arts center. sine was a music teacher at several different schools. but her friends say sine taught those she knew

sine's boyfriend is still in the hospital. but a friend tells us that he's slowly progressing in his recovery. the other driver who ?hit sine's car... is now charged with d-u-i manslaughter. the man behind some of the biggest "boy bands" of all time... passed away over the weekend. "lou pearlman" died... at the age of 62. pearlman has actually been behind bars since serving a 25 sentence for a ponzi fraud scheme. but those questionable businesss practices helped lou discover some of the biggest bands of the 90s... including "the backstreet boys" and "nsync." he also worked briefly with britney spears. pearlman's cause of death has not been released. and some of pearlman's famous singers shared their thoughts on sunday. including justin timberlake. he tweeted, quote: " i hope he found some peace. god bless and r-i-p, lou pearlman." timberlake's former "nsync" bandmate lance bass also sent

saying : "word is lou pearlman has passed away. he might not have been a stand up businessman , but i wouldn't be doing what i love today without his influence. rip lou." today in tallahassee: the florida public service commission is holding a hearing, to talk about a possible ?rate increase... at "florida power and light." f-p-l wants to raise rates by 22 percent over the next three years. monthly electric bills could jump about twenty dollars. the hearing could last all week. commission won't even have a final vote on it, until the end of november. week ?two of early voting gets underway this morning , all across the state. and we're getting some early numbers, on how the ?first week went. the hillsborough county supervisor of elections say about 70 ?thousand people have already cast their votes. more than 11 thousand from early voting.. and almost sixty thousand voting by ?mail. that means there are still ?plenty of you, you ?havent voted yet. there are about

begins this morning at ten a-m and it ends on sunday, august 28th. the actual election ?day is tuesday, august 30th. and... one hillsborough county deputy is being recognized for an act of kindness over the weekend. but it wasn't for a human.... it was for an animal. corporal jeremy davis spotted an injured ?fawn on the roadside in the area of morris bridge road. he rescued the baby deer - which turned out to be blind - and took it to the bearss avenue. deputies tell us the clinic will rehabilitate the animal, and then transfer it to a local zoo.

in other headlines this rn email scandal back in the spotlight again today. the state department has agreed to release ?all the emails they recovered from clintons private server. the emails will be given to the watchdog group, "judicial watch." the group is preparing a lawsuit against the state department. the fbi investigated those emails earlier this year, but did ?not recommend charges. the fbi also confirmed that many ?other emails were deleted from the server, before they got access. in world news: the u-s and south korea have just

happening today in venice: a new humanitarian mission begins... for the people of cuba. this morning, "agape flights" will start loading up their plane with supplies to bring to the island nation. that includes 26 water purification units going to 26 different methodist churches in cuba. there will also be more than sixty packets of food. the church of the pines in nokomis donated the funds for the trip. bad news for the kids today. the glazer children's museum is ?closed.. for annual maintenance. it will be closed tomorrow as well. ironically, the museum just held a beer fest over the weekend. so they might have to clean up from that as well. the future of tropicana field is once again up for discussion today. the city is hosting another "revisioning community meeting." it's tonight at 6-30 at the usf st. petersburg student center. the public can weigh in on the
