elsewhere 80s clearwater to st. pete to tampa. 75 in crystal river, and we still have some patchy fog lowly improving for polk co county.still keep it slow from plant city up to wesley chapel and near i-75 toward inverness, patchy fog. but lifting over the neck hour, and not a drop of rain. even on the east coast where our winds are coming from today, a little more moisture down south, and in the days ahead with this building, better rain chances. but today, just a little higher than yesterday. it is about 30%. by noon, 88. we hit 92, above average today and rain building between 4 and 10:00 tonight. >> alcides: lindsay, thank y you. we start this hour with the news alert out sarasota county. the mother of a baby who was killed last year was found dead in a jail this morning. correctional percent in sarasota county found kristin burry around 1:00 this morning inside her jail cell.

pronounced dead at the hospital. she pled no contest to aggravated man slaughter in the death of her 9-week-old son chance. he was found beaten with left with only a diaper on in a wooded area of north port. she was sentenced to 25 years in prison. officials believe she committed suicide, but at this point, her death is still under investigation. we will continue to follow this developing story. also developing this morning, a toddler dies after being left in a hot day, and now his father is facing manslaughter charges. fox 13's kellie cowan is following this story for news morning and kelly, this sound like just a horrible accident. >> yeah, that is what pinellas county sheriff -- are saying that troy whitaker told detectives last night he put his kids in their car seats, dropped his 5-year-old off at school and he thought he had dropped his 23-month-old son off at day care after only he didn't. instead whitaker returned home

son was still in the car seat just behind him. later in the day, whitaker went out to the grocery store when he became home and began unload groceries, he discovered lawson lifeless and not breathing. he tried to do cpr but after eight hours in a very hot car, it was simply too late. >> it's not an intentional act. i am not saying it is. what i am saying is that you you got to be responsible for your kids. doesn't leave them in the car for eight hours and let their body temperature go to 108 degrees and they die and not have any responsible for it. >> he was arrested a charged with aggravated manslaughter. he was released this morning on $50,000 bail. >> anjuli? [inaudible] all right, some cities around the bay area were forced to release wastewater into the bay during hurricane hermine. now it is creating some warnings at local beaches. the city of st. pete has been pitching wastewater into the bay since last week.

more than 20 million gallons. some beaches showed elevated bacterial levels. still no swimming signs. volunteers are taking it upon themselves to warn people in the water. >> they are fishing here. i have gotten people out of the water that have children and dogs, kayakers. >> an overflow and mechanical problem led to 30 million gallons dumped by clearwater and tampa spilled more than 1 mill florida lawmakers from pinellas county plan to meet later this month to work on fixing the county's wastewater problems. and this weekend, fema representatives will be in citrus county assessing the damage there. county. fema will go street by street and door by door to ewhat kind of help is needed. and in pasco, crews will begin removing storm debris on monday. they are asking homeowners to

that rain pushes toward the west coast. and i know you notice a weak swirl north of cuba, a disturbance we have been watching for low-end tropical development is still looking like won't happen due to wind shear. this is moving west. a 10% chance that will develop. here is that dry air on the back side of that upper-level energy. we will be sneaking in more moisture throughout the weekend and i would expect to see a few more showers and storms. the heat though, average high is 89 today. we all above average. 94 in frostproo 1 in st. petersburg. brooksville at 73. let's time out the rain. we have the bulls taking on northern illinois tonight at raymond james. lunchtime if you were tailgating early this afternoon. hydration yesterday. 3:00 by the inland rain, and by 5 p.m., showers and storm a little more scattered as they push west. my concern is kickoff and lightning delays. noer day, another evening where sky tower radar app a good idea keeps alerting if you lightning is nearby.

radar app. it will alert if you any lightning is nearby. >> lindsay, thank you. the time right now is almost 8:31. a quick check of today's top stories. police arrest a man they say led them on a cross county chase. they caught up with john burn on waters avenue and f firecracker drive near the veteran the expressway. deputies say they first spotted him in new port richey. he ran away through a swamp, took a minivan leading police on a chase down state road 54 and on to the suncoast park the chase came to an end when a deputy shot a tire causing him to crash. the westbound lanes of gandy boulevard in st. petersburg are back open after a deadly crash. the road near san martin boulevard was closed for almost five hours yesterday. troopers say a car drove into the median, then overturned and collided into two other cars. the driver died. florida highway at that troll is also investigating that case. a bipartisan bill allowing relatives of september 11
