presentation is incredible today. there has been an intensification the eye has cleared up. can you see the eye how the storm has as expected done the turn to the north. that's happening right now. that obviously is jamaica and the storm will pass well east of jamaica. a big problem in haiti with the eye getting close to the western tip of that producing rain and flooding. st is the infa red movie this is not radar. this is the temperatures of the cloud tops and the red and purple are very cold tops, they are high. they are big storms and rotating around the center of hurricane matthew which obviously is a very dangerous hurricane.
it has done a loop from going west southwest i was on it on friday night due north at 7 miles an hour. here is the track. i think one thing of note. on the track that was issued a few minutes ago is that the bend to the west northwest or the northwest, why is that, why is that turning this way? the reason is simple. there is a big blocking high over bermuda be stronger than we earlier anticipated and the high you know kind of acts like a block and the hurricane goes around the high. the high is stronger and nudges the hurricane to the west. that's what the models are picking up. and half of florida is in the cone. one thing of note this is thursday in the bahamas, this a
side is the much, much preferred side than the east side. even if this was to verify the worst we would get here is a windy couple of days, 35 miles per hour winds and be manageable the problem is that if it comes up the spine of the state or get close to the immediate east coast. that's a thing to watch the shift, as of now i'm not expecting huge impacts thursday and friday. after that, it could get dicey for the carolinas with a hurricane approaching. myrtle beach or places hake nags head, north carolina, the models off the coast, rain fall accumulations as we said could be 40 plus in inches in haiti and all of this. that will be moving across the bahamas thursday, friday into saturday.
we'll have you views at 5 20. back to you, thank you, paul. this is the final day for people to move out of the mosely hotel. many were homeless or transient. they were placed in shelters or subsidized housing. and they were moved to cheaper hotels which really are not that cheap. lloyd sowers shows us why. >> reporter: the f brought the evictions. 400 people once lived in the run down hotel. i visited a family of five in a room here in 2011. >> the girls have one bed, mom has one. we sleep on the floor. >> you sleep on the floor? >> yes, they found an apartment but many people live at similar motels on the same trip of 34th street s it cheap? >> it was supposed to be 920 a
almost 1300. >> that's a lot. >> it takes every nickel. >> they are trapped and can not find or don't want an alternative. >> it is because they have an eviction on the record and landlord does not want to rent to them. apartments require a deposit they don't have f they have a drug or drink problem, there is plenty of that to be found at motels like this. now the mosely will knob more. it will be that's good news, said the sheriff, the conditions here are deporable it is probably best they move on and get into better suited housing, especially for the kids. >> reporter: those who left will be offered housing. >> and it beets being homeless. >> in a motel somewhere between home and the street. lloyd sowers, fox 13 news. dozens of pitts were taken
keep them free of charge but only for 7 days. there is good news for those who take the howard frankland, none of the lanes will be turned into express lanes. there were hearings scheduled to convert a lane on each side into an express toll road. now the department of transportation is putting the brakes on that idea. and f dot will reconsider other ways to improve the bridge now the vice president is walking out to hold a rally on behalf of hillary clinton. he is getting a warm welcome there. evan axelbank is covering this. what can we expect to hear from the vice president? >> reporter: certainly, sin thee yaks the -- cynthia, the vice president is one of the main attack dogs. we expect the vice president to
today not only on his charity dealings but his taxes. those are major issues in the campaign, we expect joe biden to bite at him in the hard down to earth way. that's what we expect from the vice president. we saw the vice president in orlando a bit earlier today. he said that donald trump is uninformed and backing putin and cheered for the housing crisis n short he said he said in short he is beneath the office of the president. what leaders would wake up at 3:00 and tweet about hillary clinton. we expect him to talk about hillary clinton and what he says is clinton's package of benefits to the middle class and a raise of the minimum wage and debt-free education at public institutions. now the campaign right now in some ways is about florida,
the hillary clinton campaign has seen a bounce since the last debate that we saw between the secretary and donald trump. they are hoping to continue that momentum and part of of what thy are hoping to do is use the rally to boost the get out the vote effort, that will be critical in places like sarasota t is a small intimate rally. these are the core democratic party supporters in sarasota. the hope is that the people will go from voters and get them to the polls in november. >> can you go listen in see what he has to say. we'll check back later. the president will be talking health care when he comes to the bay area this wednesday. he will speak at the university of south florida about the affordable care act. wasting time about attacking donald trump on his taxes. he could have avoided paying
a billion in 1995. there is part of the ad that was released toot. >> most pay taxes. most do not. >> that makes me smart. >> does that mean we are sound? >> and they defended donald trump and calling him a genius. let's bring in craig patrick. how much of an impact could this have on the campaign. >> there are two bay ways this opened him to two lines attack. the first one is that he does not pay taxes. but clinton cannot draw that conclusion based on what we know. go back to the times report it stated that he could have paid no taxes legally for 18 years. there are two words there corks have. we don't know for sure based on the information that we have. three pages of a return from 1995. we don't know what the gains and losses were after and the other
the trump camp is turning thisaround like romney saying bottom line as the business expert he is he wants to pay as little as he has to under the law, that's the shrewd person you want leading the nation? >> there is another way to look at this but i don't think that will hurt donald trump very much. but he is facing another line of attack. he lost $916 million in one year. if he is the genius he claims to be, how can that happen and that's a line of attack i think that could dog him that the clinton camp is using against him. how much that may cost him may depend on how well it is addressed in the debate. and next sunday night and beyond. >> trump and clinton's running mates face off tomorrow night. how much can the debate move the needle?
when dan quayle was beat. it did not move the needle. don't expect the need toll move much based on what we have seen but this year can be a little different if there is a gap on one side or the other because both campaigns have framed this on judgment, both claiming the other lacks the judgment in order to lead so if pence question the charlestoned at the -- the candidate at the top of the ticket only then will it move. based on what we have seen it will not move much. the big one sday n>> interestin. thankthank you, craig. a man murdering a couple and biting the dead man's face is in jail. the 19-year-old had been in the hospital for two months under

i mean the worst scenario for us would be a storm slicing across the state from the southeast. that's probably not. something parallelling the coast makes sense. that puts us on on the west side. the winds blowing the water away from land. d and on the east coast than the west. and then a threat to the carolinas. that would be saturday into sunday and close to myrtle beach and then near cape hatterus after that. and shifting to the west due to the building high and off the coast and then kind of around that high and some have a hurricane heading up to new england next week.

don't necessarily focus on the line. any place inside of the yellow cone is pretty much in play. the storm eventually parallels the east coast and by the way to nassau as the category 3 hurricane. that could cause issues. what we're watching for here for our viewers. if this verifies will be oka days from the north and the northeast. 30 to 40-miles per hour. we can deal with that. the issue is that at some point the high gets stronger and the track does this or this or this. i don't think it will happen but the chances are not zero. i don't think it will. it is will parallel the coast and the outer bands -- banks. that's what we're looking.
this here and it is a lot better being on the west side than the east side. we saw that during hermine. we're on the dirty, nasty east side of the storm. this time on the west side which is better as far as the weather conditions go. some do hug the coast. rain fall accumulation will be significant. 40 inches plus and the 40 inches starts going the caribbean. a big difference between the gfs and the european. that is in red here. european is in tan. and both models kind of hug the coast. it is stronger. and the gfs makes landfall. and accelerates and slows down after that.
