from tampa bay's number one news station, this is the news at noon. a box truck goes right over a bridge in sarasota landing in the war. good afternoon everyone i'm linda hurtado. thanks so much your joining us. new at noon a truck driver escapes safely after his truck goes over a bridge. this is in sarasota. the truck driver veered off the road over the guardrail right into the water. he is going to be okay. there is a crane on site but it hasn't yet begun the process of trying to lift the truck out of the water.
at this time. but early on in our investigation we believe for some reason he lost control scudded through guardrail once he reached bridge for in unknown reason he was not not able to regain control and truck ended up over the side of the bridge. the two westbound lanes of the bridge are down to one lane. you can expect traffic in that area to be backed up for several more hours. not clear yet if that driver will face any charges. new at noon, mosaic is figuring out best way to fill that massive sing hole and h they dropped a cage device down into the hole with sonar to measure how deep it is. they used a drone overhead to show it going down. now widest part of the sinkhole is about 152 feet across. they expect to learn a lot more about by using some sek knolling that they've never actually used bah. many times white a. suspended from an aircraft or helicopter and then flown over the earths surface and it will give you the dimensions of the earth. but as far as the lowering down

by the end of the day. >> no you've lived in florida for any amount of time you know sink holes can pop up almost anywhere any time. and they certainly have in this community. that's why people get uptight when you talk about this kind of thing. back in 2014, a sinkhole opened up and actually swallowed up an entire car. now people had to be evacuated. was pretty big deal and very unsettling for folks that live here. then when park residents thought, we're out of the clear, guess what, they weren't. a depression opened up. well. bottom line with this one is it looks to be pretty small t looks to be under control. this unfortunately was built on wetlands. so they may have more problems than maybe you or your neighborhood kind of getting used to it unfortunately hopefully this will stay a small little bitty hole and not get big like the one back in 2014. >> people are still talking about that one. >> back to you. all right ken, how you're right. thank you. holiday man is dead after a

that were to develop down here away from us. just kind of push it right away from us. we're still going oh to have some random isolated showers as we go through next couple of days. we stay on the warm side. but notice that it just doesn't aallow it to work its way towards us that cold front works its way it looks like probably some time late friday. and into saturday. but by sunday, that's when you're going to notice the big change across the state. right now we're sitting kind in moderate to stick range for the dew point. wh humidity. but by time you get into sunday that's when you're going to notice feel so much nicer outside. sunday morning, you want to get make sure you get outside it will feel so nice outside. forecast for today, partly cloudy skies. another warm afternoon. a few isolated showers, mainly throughout interior. daytime high of 87 degrees. then for tonight clear skies, a mild night overnight low of 70. then for tomorrow, partly cloudy, another warm afternoon

doesn't really feel any different but as you look up in the sky, maybe noticing a little more sun, and we're seeing fewer showers on skytower radar. not going to make way as many of them across the straight as we've seen over the past couple of days. buk see over by florida turnpike working there way into polk county. some scattered showers just to the south of orlando. we will likely see a couple of sprinkle here on the west coast. but coverage is going to be less than 20 percent. as we go through the afternoon. here in tampa right now we're a westchase you're 83. new tampa 82. plant city, brandon both at 86 degrees. you head over to pinellas park 85 downtown st. petersburg. 81. mid to upper 80s across our northern counties where crystal river is 86 degrees. weeki wachee new port richey 84. down to our south, sarasota, 86 degrees. head down into central sarasota county, venice at 84 degrees. lakewood ranch currently sits at
generally sitting in the mid 80s. so high pressure has been situated to our north over the weekend. and that's been locking in that east and northeast early flow you can see scattered showers. then as you look over towards the bahamas right over here just a very disorganized area some showers, some the computer model maybe hinting something might try and develop there is a we head through towards end of the week. but we've got a cold front back to our north and west. that's going to be racing down into the southeast. sop if anything were to develop wi away from us which is certainly good news. you look water just measure of the amount of moisture in air. so dryer this gets it feels so much nicer outside. watch with cold front that swings down into the southeast. pushes whatever develops if it develops away from us. then by sunday, that dryer more pleasant air works its way in with some cooler temperatures as we head into the first part of next week. so forecast for today. still on warm side daytime high of 87.

no. it's measured by what we do for our children. the values we pass on. i've spent my life fighting for kids and families
and hard work take them. that means good schools for every child in every zip code. college that leads to opportunities... not debt. and an economy where every young american can find a job that lets them start a family of their own. we face big challenges, but we can solve them the same way families do. working together. respecting one another. and never giving up.
