a bradenton man is behind bars, charged with abusing a puppy. and it's all because the animal chewed up his shoe. police say 39- year-old (carlo mes-a- door)"carleau mesidor" used a lanyard to hang his 3-month-old puppy by the neck... then repeatedly punched her in the head!

care. there were two other dogs in the home-- they have been turned over to manatee county. mesidor is charged with aggravated animal abuse. pasco deputies are warning marina owners to be on the lookout, after a series of burglaries. last month...thieves broke into the anclote village marina... and stole a pair of motors off a boat, along with six propeller units from other boats. all told...they got away with about 100-thousand dollars in stolen items. four marinas and one boat manufacturing bu several more marinas have been targeted in pinellas. we're told the criminals are targeting the most expensive items -- like motors. marina managers think the ?same criminals could be behind all of them: investigators are still not confirming whether the crimes are connected. anyone with information is

if you haven't had your ?flu shot yet... this could be your day. the usf college of public health is holding it's annual ?free flu shot drive. this is the 20th year the college has held the drive. it's for all adults 18 and older. although the centers for disease control and prevention recommends flu shots start at six ?months of age. the drive is from eight a-m to four p-m, while supplies last... at the tampa campus. county. one of our viewers sent us this picture. he said the deputy stopped his motorcycle to help a girl fix the chain on her bike. this all happened thursday afternoon in front of an elementary school. the viewer said the girl had just left school when it happened. the officer took the time to help fix the bike, and then made sure she arrived home on time. and now to a deputy in hernando county. he's getting some recognition, his unique ride. the sheriff's office posted this video to it's facebook last night, showing "deputy juan perez" driving a golf cart. but the reason ?why... is pretty touching. the post said the deputy was helping an elderly man by driving the man's golf cart home after the man got lost. you can take a ?trolley ride around downtown tampa on saturday... without paying a
