fall. this by the way is last major hurricane to hit the u.s. made land fall at cape romano with winds of 120 miles an hour. category 3. for time we thought that was actually going to be eclipsed this year with hurricane matthew. but ma thoo weakened before land fall thankfully. and had winds at category 2 level when it made land fall. obviously will ma a retired because of all the damage actually had winds a one point in caribbean of 185 miles per hour hurricane at that point that we had sneen atlantic basin. what morning 61 here in tampa. wesley chapel 55. had some 40s to our north. where brooksville is 47. crystal river 45 degrees. along the coastline temperatures generally in the 60s in those 50s once you get a little bit away from the coastline.
you can see more clouds over on eastern side of state bringing a few clouds on shore. but overus it just high thin cirrus clouds passing through the area. we will continue with mainly a northerly wind for the rest of the afternoon. outside right now we're at 76 degrees. dew point still pretty comfortable at 50. humidities winds northeast three miles an hour. here in tampa that's 76. brandon already up to 79 degrees. wesley chapel you head into downtown st. petersburg, 73. down in sarasota 77. new port richey you have got 73 degrees along with crystal river. pretty much same story most state upper 70s and low 80s once get down across extreme southern part of the state. remember last week before cold front came through we're looking dew points in upper 60s. even some low 70s across the area. we drop these down into the 30s and 40s over the weekend. we bounce back up to that
amount of moisture in the air as these numbers grow or get higher it feels uncomfortable outside. now we're right at that very comfortable level right now. that will continue pretty much into tomorrow as well. by wednesday, thursday and friday, we're starting to get back into more of that moderate humidity with daytime highs getting back into the mid 80s. yeah, all the beautiful weather we had over the weekend, it's pretty much gone. not too bad outside but it doesn't have that nice crisp atmosphere. so high pressure working its way kroot southeast another cold front to north. that has cooler air this time around front pushes down closer to us we will got get that big push of cooler air over us, in fact that cooler air will kind of race on to the east. and basically bypasses, you can watch that front just fizzle out as we go go through next several days you can see high pressure just meanders across the
see light ask variable winds. cold front pushes down to south and then washes out. so this time around we're not going to cool things down, in fact, these temperatures will slowly moderate and warm up as we go through the next several days. loads of sun for today. daytime high of 81. for to want, clear and still a cool night for tonight. overnight low of 62. for tomorrow, mostly sunny. a bit warmer. 83 degrees on the water. winds are currently out of the north 10 knots. moderate chop on bay degrees. low tide comes up the 4:58. here's your seven-day forecast, that's slow warming trend continues through week but still we're not talking about any rain in the forecast. at least for the next five to seven days. linda. thank you, jim. an eight-year-old boy is sick all violence in his community. he's doing something about it. and there's something about that that is surprising a lot of people. story behind us call for peace
