>>dave: every forecast is important. >>russell: well, okay. >>dave: this is just extra special important because we got trick-or-treaters out there. >>russell: okay. >>dave: and it's going to be absolutely fantastic. you can look at just how pretty this sunrise is and how great it is to start things off today. i do have temperatures in the upper 60s for tampa. lower 70s back to the coastline. a couple spots in the lower 60s. we'll get in the 80s by noon time and top it off in the mid 80s. afternoon before the sun goes down, it will be warm in the 80s. once the sun goes down tonight, it should quickly drop back to the 70s. all in all, a beautiful halloween forecast. >>vanessa: absolutely. thanks, dave. here at 7:01, if you're heading out the door, you could see delays southbound 75. we have a new crash reported in the area of fowler avenue and it is blocking up a lane. it's the right lane actually but it will be where it's merging with the folks coming off the entrance ramp.

remaining travel lanes that are open. if you can, give yourself extra time here and we'll watch this and make sure it doesn't cause bad enough jams that you have to avoid the area. so far this just happened a few moments ago. meantime here, fatality was still reported blocking up lanes in manatee county. west of taylor road, this is a hit and run involving a pedestrian. unfortunately, that pedestrian passed away. fhp troopers are asking folks to help them out as far as finding this driver. 2009 newer ford super duty pickup truck and so if you know anything, please call f.h.p. about this >>russell: f.b.i. decides to reopen the investigation into hillary clinton's emails. >>russell: and the stunning development may have serious implications in the race for the white house with the election a week away.

>>laura: with the last big push to election day, we can expect to see a lot of candidates here. donald trump running mate mike pence will make a brief campaign stop today. he'll speak to supporters after he steps off the plane. doors open at 4:00. he's expected to be there at 6:00 and you can get free tickets on donald trump's website. >>russell: and bill clinton is giving his wife some support. he'll make several campaign stops for her tomorrow in florida, including one in center. tickets are available on hillary clinton's website and that says she'll be in tampa tomorrow but does not say when or where. >>laura: most americans are waiting until after the election to start their holiday shopping. about one in four shoppers say the election results will affect those plans. confidence will be high or low depending on when candidate wins that day. retailers predict shoppers will spend $936 this year. you can find the latest news and

election on our website at fox13news.com. that includes up to the minute results on election night. just click on the news tab at the top of your screen and then politics. >>russell: it's 7:06 and a hit-and-run driver killed a woman and hurt a deputy and now there's a manhunt to find that driver, even a reward. shayla reaves is covering the story from lakeland. good morning. >>reporter: good morning to you. right now we are at lakeland regional medical center where deputy adam receive treatment for serious injuries. according to authorities, he suffered a broken pelvis and other broken bones, all of this after authorities say a driver took off after a hit and run that left the deputy hurt and killed a civilian. i want you to take a look at this video of the area we're talking about. this is state road 60 and lake wales. over the weekend, around midnight, in fact, saturday

service when he spotted a woman standing on the side of the road. while he stopped to speak with her, he found out she crashed into a tree and suffered some injuries. you're seeing deputy panel on the screen. he called medics who arrived within minute. not only was the citizen hurt but deputy panell suffered injuries, too. both struck by a driver who veered onto the median and didn't stick >> the fact they fled after mowing down a deputy sheriff and an innocent woman, you know, i don't know that they would turn themselves in but we would plea for that person or anyone who knows that person to turn themselves in. >>reporter: now, 33-year-old woman did not survive. deputy panell is expected to recover from his injuries but

injuries in connection with this accident. now, according to authorities, they have been checking cameras throughout the area at businesses, trying to see if any cameras may have captured clues or images of the vehicle that left the scene of this hit and run. now, we are told crime stoppers, heartland crime stopper $ offering up to a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest or even the identity of the person crime. we can tell you sheriff judd said his department will be working day and night until this case is solved. he referred to the person responsible for leaving the scene as a coward. anyone with details in this case is urged to contact the polk county sheriff's office. shayla reaves, fox 13 news. >>russell: we'll talk again later. thank you. 7:09. clearwater police are looking

accident at u.s. 19 and roosevelt. cameras are from the rodeway inn and shows the driver pacing the lobby. eventually a friend came to pick him up. if you know who he is, call crime stoppers. >>laura: dying over drugs. that is the motive for a murder yesterday afternoon at the tampa hotel on east busch boulevard. one person was fatally shot, a second person was wounded and police say they were arguing over drugs. somebody broke into the holocaust museum in saint pete pete yesterday around 3:00 a.m. didn't take anything but they were caught on camera kicking and breaking an electronic key pad and a call box. a man did it and they have not told us why. >>laura: even the gravest of warnings cannot prevent a tragedy from happening in your home. a 3-year-old pasco county boy is in the hospital this morning after an older model tv set fell on top of him. the child was climbing on a

the tv fell. the boy was flown to bay front medical center in st. petersburg. >>russell: bucs play the falcons at home on thursday night. bucs lost in overtime yesterday to the raiders 30-24. they had some trouble stopping the oakland offense. derek carr threw for four touchdowns, including a 41-yard td with less than two minutes to go in overtime. time of the even close. raiders held the bar about 15 minutes longer than the bucs. >> those kind hurt. we had our chances and couldn't capitalize them. our defense was on the field way too long. we couldn't do enough offensively to keep them off the field. that hurt us. and, you know, just we can't put

avenue. this is in the area of north 11th street and what we're seeing is reports of a trauma alert crash so some serious injuries reported. this might also involve a rollover as well. heavy delays are present eastbound and westbound. eastbound direction, it is backed up beyond 275 so defidefinite ly avoid that area. also westbound, our delays are getting towards 15th street. they're just beyond it. 22nd and nebraska avenue. we believe this is in the westbound direction but overall, just based on the slowdowns we're seeing both directions, definitely avoid hanna avenue or osbourne avenue. we'll be following this closely. we have a crew headed to the scene so any new updates we'll get to as soon as possible. possibly even a live report so stay tuned for that. we want to clear this incident.

throwing. some people were throwing rocks in the area of crenshaw street. that's north of sligh avenue. that has been cleared out. we don't know about any injuries or crashes that might have ensued but it was a concern so deputies checked it out and looks like there's no concern for folks through the area anymore. worry watching this. area of fowler avenue, we had a crash in a travel lane. that has moved off to the side. travel times are in the red but i i towards the normal zone as we get along throughout the morning now that we have the crash cleared out. dave? >>dave: thank you. we have a 61 to 72-degree start. st. petersburg, the warmest at 72. typically the warmest and then brandon at 61 degrees this morning. everybody else in between so a lot of us are technically above normal but do you know what? it's halloween. it is a beautiful, gorgeous

where they're in the mid to upper 50s from panama city over to jacksonville. then you have the upper 70s west palm down through miami with a dew point number. what a difference in humidity levels around the state. nice and dry and absolutely gorgeous in tallahassee. you have moderate humidity here but then you've got summertime oppressive humidity down over the keys so you have three separate but, you know, here's the thing. it's not going to change much over the n we're not going to get to the point where the 70s crank back up to our area. we will get back in the 50s for dew points but this will take some time. we'll watch and put it all in the forecast for you. 65, 68, 67. by friday morning, we're still in the mid 60s. then here comes drier air and by saturday morning at 9:00 a.m., wow. what a difference as we bring the humidity back so yes, we do

night coming through. i love the timing on it. of course, that means it's going to pave the way for a gorgeous weekend. no rain associated with the front coming through on friday. it will be a wind shift and it will be drier air in time for the weekend so we'll take it one day at a time because we have a big night tonight. we have halloween and i think it's going to be absolutely fantastic. we're looking at clear skies with no rain to speak of. for those of you who have very thick costumes, it may be a bit warm. it may be a b used to it if you've been around for any length of time, any length of halloweens. sometimes it can be warm out there. we'll get to 86 today for the trick-or-treaters out about 6:00, let's say 6:30 tonight because you've got a sun city at -- sunset at 6:46, you'll be in the upper 70s or lower 80's for trick or treat time.

maddon, right? >> absolutely. i'll tell you what. friday and saturday was a different story. fans could not find the exits fast enough. last night, sunday evening, it was the first world series win at wrigley field since 1945 and now, there is renewed hope amongst cubs fans. >> we're all about writing our own history. this team is a special one. >> cubs haven't w series in more than a century and the cleveland indians haven't won in nearly 70 years. the indians had their chance to win the series sunday night but the cubs held on to win game five. >> so you have to be able to punch and counter punch all the time. and we were able to do that tonight. the three runs held up beautifully. >> indians scored early on with a run in the second inning. the cubs countering with three runs in the fourth starting with a home run by chris bryant.

injury crash. eastbound and westbound lanes blocked here on hillsborough at north 11th street. this involves an overturned box truck and as i mentioned, you'll see some delays in the area. serious injuries are reported and for drivers heading eastbound, looks like your area is from 11th back to the hillsborough river. that's your area of concern. we have heavy delays reported. westbound drivers, we're seeing that or nebraska towards 19th street. we do have a crew who is headed to the scene so hopefully we'll get you more information but we think that the lanes are going to be closed here for awhile because of the fact it does involve a serious injury so they'll have to investigate. we're also hearing there might be fluid leaking in the roadway which would indicate a more extended cleanup process. we want to check out this area. we have reports over the weekend from the city of tampa there's a

hills hillsborough, basically reduced to one lane. now, the repair is supposed to be complete but the road might not be restored until about 5:00 this afternoon. it might be a bit slower than normal, this area as well just due to the lane blocks and the lane reductions in place here. still looking normal southbound 275 coming into the interchange. westbound i-4, no big complaints here. that's moder 75. 21 minutes the drive from southbound 75 exit with bruce b downs boulevard heading to i-4. >>dave: 7:29 and 63 degrees. brookdale, bayshore camera, this just is a stunning start to our day, to our holiday and east-northeast winds around five miles an hour. forecast for today, i know it's going to be slightly above normal again as high

((laura- welcome back to good day tampa bay. the time is 7:--. >>laura: welcome back to "good day tampa bay." time is 7:34. there are serious concerns this morning for people living in the mountains of central italy. >>russell: is area is trying to recover from a massive earthquake. 6.6, strong enough to topple buildings. no reports of anyone being killed but a lot of people are homeless and this is the fourth major italy since august. they had two last week. >>laura: opera fan's last wish caused a terror scare at the metropolitan opera in new york city. they had to cancel the rest of the show and evacuate the building because of a powdery substance. after talking to witnesses, police located kaiser. 52-year-old explained he didn't mean any harm and was only spreading the ashes of a friend

police decided not to charge kaiser. >>russell: manhunt for a killer in oklahoma. state trooper fatally shot michael vance, junior last night. trooper was making a traffic stop. he didn't know who was driving. within a few minutes they were in a shootout on a dark and rural highway. vance is accused of killing two residents last week and shooting and wounding two police officers. >>laura: a doz n people are hurt after a car drove into a car outside of martinsville. they say the driver made eye contact with him before hitting the accelerator. the victims were waiting for autographs in a parking lot after the race. everyone should recover. >>russell: you should talk to your kids before they go trick-or-treating tonight. there may be a few homes in your neighborhood to avoid. ken has some advice for parents. >> when i was a kid, i could go to any door and get candy and call it a happy halloween.

there are a lot of sexual predators out there. probably including your neighborhood so you have to check this all out. we checked out a number of cities in the tampa bay area and came up with some pretty astounding numbers of registered predators. sarasota, 124. lakeland 210. dade city 53 and dunedin 13. so you really have to check it out to s predators is in your neighborhood. don't be surprised if it is -- you know, if you do find someone there. it could be a guy and it could be a lady. the way to do that is go to fox13news.com and that will tell you everything you need to know. in the meantime, we have other safety tips for you. only trick or treat at homes with front porch lights on. don't let your kids go into homes without a trusted adult, before a cell phone in case of

if it looks funky or like it's been tampered with, don't do anything. just throw it out. know which door you or your kids are going up to. check out every door, even though it looks perfectly fine to you. if you don't know the background, check it out before you put your kids possibly in danger. it could be some surprises there. a great investment, just go on the compur to not only have a fun holiday but a safe one as well. >>laura: and speaking of the fun part, all the kit-kats, snickers, those add up. calories, numbers you may want to ignore. no surprise that the average kid will eat more than 3100 calories this year. just from the candy they get while they're trick-or-treating. what may be surprising is how many calories parents will eat from all their kids' candy.
