7:03 am
a give the voter something about me pitch. she can't. she's trying to deflect way from the f.b.i. >> clinton is also moving into traditional gop turf campaigning in arizona today, hoping to flip the state for democrats and her campaign is relying on the millions of early voters across the country who may have already given her an edge before the polls tighten. donald trump in wisconsin hoping to chip away at any lead. >> this is a good time to make a public service announcement. you can change your vote to donald trump. we'll make america great again, okay? >> and he's right. a handful of states give early voters the option to change their minds and although the deadline to do so in minnesota passed yesterday, in wisconsin voters have a chance to go back and forth multiple times. >> you have to go and do it in person but they can change their

our temperatures, mid to upper 60s. a couple of spots along the coastline are still in the lower 70s. a little bit warmer than yesterday. some two to four degrees. forecast today brings us back in the mid 80s. more warmth today, tomorrow and then drier air settling in f i alone can fix it! bomb the [bleep] out of 'em. i'd like to punch him in the face. i like people that weren't captured, okay? he's a mexican! she ate like a pig... i moved on her like a [bleep] i did not say that... i love war. yes, including with nukes. blood coming out of her... they're rapists... wrong. there has to be some form of punishment. such a nasty woman. i wanna be unpredictable. ...on 5th avenue and shoot somebody... she's a slob... i don't remember! and you can tell them to go [bleep] themselves! priorities usa action is responsible

>>dave: it is 7:13 and how pretty does this look this morning? our tampa cam? it's going to be a gorgeous sunrise in half an hour or so. another great picture of the usf marine science beautiful blue skies. as you go well, well off to the east, we actually have had a couple of clouds towards the east coast and a sprinkle or two, but just in general, a wonderful start to the day. look at the temperatures. really for most of us, they're running two or three degrees warmer than yesterday in the 7:00 hour. 66 in brandon, winter haven, frost proof, bartow at 68 degrees. back to wesley chapel, 66. low to mid 60s from brooksville
7:14 am
lower 70s right now. jacksonville at 70. we've had some moisture stream across the state and it wouldn't surprise me to get a couple of those inland sprinkles over the next several hours. so just keep that in mind,al the rain chances are less than 10%, it is a possibility for inland spots. our dew points are in the moderate category. once they start getting above 70, that's when it starts to be the course of the next couple of days, that doesn't happen. they stay in the moderate category until we get into the late friday, early saturday time frame. by friday morning at 8:00, you see this yellow, the line between the yellow and the green. watch how fast this moves through. by saturday morning, here comes that refreshing air. dew points are back in the 40s and 50s and there it shall stay
7:15 am
going to be real nice overall. here are the sprinkles that i was just telling you about and some of them are holding together, citrus county. you may deal with a couple of those. it wouldn't surprise me to get a stray sprinkle in polk county as well. in general, rain chances are not there. not even when the front comes through on friday are we anticipating rain fall. it's november. november is the driest month of the year. it takes a lot to get us rainfall and that's not t mostly sunny, seasonably warm as our temperatures will again runabout five degrees above normal this afternoon which doesn't seem like a lot, but it's only like two or three degrees cooler than a record high so that's why i call it seasonably warm. mostly clear, 68 degrees, mild again tonight with scattered clouds. we'll continue with the mid 80s for you tomorrow afternoon. boaters, i think you're used to
7:16 am
northeast winds at 10 knots. water temperatures 75 degrees. by late in the day on friday, the winds will shift to the northwest. we'll drag in the cooler, drier air. as an extra bonus, we'll turn the clocks back saturday night into sunday morning getting that extra hour of sleep and we'll stay in the upper 70s through next tuesday. no complaints whatsoever. >>vanessa: looks good. thanks. it's 7:16 right now and we'll check in expressway. seeing some -- i would say slightly unusual delays in the souhbound direction. no official reports of crashes or anything like that, but we'll check into this. it seems as though the start of the delays and where they were starting was a little bit different than what we typically see this time of morning. by the airplane, you're running about 10 miles an hour in that southbound direction so maybe give yourself a few extra minutes if you have to head this way and if i find anything out about what may or may not be happening here on the vets, i'll let you know.
7:17 am
minutes. not too much to complain about with the travel times but something is a little different in the area. pasco county, we did have a crash reported earlier. we still have the lane blocks and the delays here. state road 52 at old pasco road, seeing most of the delays in the westbound direction but some stacking up eastbound here so make sure you're adding extra travel times if your commute takes you this way as well. >>russell: beach front living may sound like a dream to aot everyone. >>laura: a family on the coast of california received an anonymous letter shaming them for the size of their house. mike and kelly, who have a 2-year-old and 4-year-old, two sons, they live in a two bed rom condo in san diego and they've lived in the beach side home for nine years but one person is calling their lifestyle selfish. couple found this letter on their door. because you like the beach, your boys are trapped in a tiny, bun
7:18 am
shame on you. the couple has no idea where it came from or who sent it because it only listed the sfwlip -- zip code on the address. they think it's a neighbor who doesn't know them very well because they spelled kelli's name wrong. one person said, cowards. not even a return address. just like most to stick their nose where it doesn't belong. another facebook user had this to say. who uses a mean spirited letter? we know who is going to be on santa's naughty list this year. >>russell: unbelievable. wow. a dangerous combination. it's something a lot of people do. coming up, what mixing energy drinks with alcohol may be doing to your brain. >>laura: and the perfect scenario. a seven game world series. why the odds are against the cubs winning tonight. will they be able to break the
7:19 am
>>charley: buccaneers are celebrating their female fans with a program called women of red. they're going to set up a red zone before the game which is tomorrow night. you can actually be interviewed for about how much you love the bucs. don't answer that question. don't answer that. how dare you ask that question. don't -- you don't have to answer any of those questions. stick around, everybody. we'll talk about the big bus here and what is upns and that's very exciting.
7:20 am
i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. donald trump: i could stand in the middle of 5th avenue and shoot somebody and i wouldn't lose any voters, okay? and you can tell them you know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever... you gotta see this guy. ahh, i don't know what i said, ahh. "i don't remember." he's going like "i don't remember!? carson and i have seen some terrible ads attacking our mom dana young. for things she never did.
7:21 am
trust us we know from experience. mom put her career on hold for us. to raise our family. she is a role model for everyone in our community. i'm proud of you mom, we both are.
7:22 am
((laura welcome back to good day tampa bay. the time is 7:--. >>laura: welcome back. time is 7:22. new develops this morning in the search for a missing malaysian airliner. >>russell: there are reports no one was at the controls when it fell from the sky. the plane has been missing for two years now. only a few pieces have been found. investigators think it ran out of fuel while flying over the indian ocean. they may give up the search
7:23 am
the plane was flying in the opposite direction from where it should have been going and nobody still knows why it flew off course. there were 239 people on board the flight. >>laura: federal investigators are looking into a deadly crash in baltimore. collision between a school bus and a commuter bus yesterday morning killed six people and injured 10 others. there were no children on the school bus at the time. the driver was on his way to pick them up. there's a chance he had a medical emergency just before the crash because there's no skid marks at the scene. >>russell: governor of alabama because of an explosion along a gas pipeline. d backhoe hit the pipeline on monday, caused an explosion. pipeline provides gas to several surrounding states. a rupture in the line a few weeks ago led to gas shortages and long lines at the pump and that could happen again. >>laura: combining energy drinks and alcohol may change the lane, similar to cocaine or morphine.
7:24 am
found signs of changes in the brain. they had to use more cocaine to get the other pleasant high that mice would have. it's not sure if there's the exact effect on humans. >>dave: 7:24. i've been watching all morning as the tiny little the state. there may be one or two in citrus county. but that's it. i mean, it's really not much. we have a lot of drier air aloft and this may be the scene the next couple of days as the showers try, try, try to work their way across the state and then just start to fall apart. other than that, we really do have a nice start to our day. 69 degrees in tampa. mid 60s in areas inland. even upper 60s as well. then you've got clearwater, st.
7:25 am
mid 80s today, mid 80s tomorrow and a 20% rain chance for friday just in time for the weekend because we have cooler, drier air getting ready to settle in. we'll discuss that in the next half hour. >>vanessa: looking forward to it. thanks, dave. here at 7:25, we're back to the area of 275 and kennedy and you'll probably recall a couple of reports back, we had reports of a crash that we were following and according to fhp, there was lane blockage. i've been checking several we have not seen drastic increases in those northbound travel times heading across the howard frankland bridge leading up to the place where this crash would be. so i don't think it's going to be there. that's good news if you're heading that way. meantime, we do have some lane blocks we're seeing here with delays that are very notable. manatee county, crash on 75. it will be a mile or two south of the junction with 275 and a single lane will be blocked.
7:26 am
seeing delays from below the junction to the area of 301. >>russell: well, what's one more day when you've been waiting 108 years? world series comes down to a final game and a live report for you is coming up. >>laura: and someone to watch your children while you vote on election day. alcides segui is here now with more on that story. good morning. >>reporter: good morning to you. what a fantastic idea. you want to go out and vote on election day? why not drop them off at the ymca? that's the u.s.a. said a couple of days ago. but local chapters are actually scrambling to try to make that service available. we'll have that story and a whole lot more bob buesing... on the record. he sues tax payers to cover the outrageous cost of a lavish courthouse. buesing files forclosures on homes critical to seniors. his law firm is accused of running up costs on a school
7:27 am
he never did. so we ask... mr. buesing, will you do anything to win? anything? to beat this woman. putting a wife to work is a very dangerous thing. when i come home and dinner's not ready i go through the roof. grab 'em by the p****". when you're a star, they let you do it.
7:28 am
by donald trump. i'll go backstage before a show... yes.. and everyone's getting dressed. donald trump walked into the dressing room while contestants, some as young as 15 were changing. standing there with no clothes. you see these incredible looking women. i'd look her right in that fat ugly face of hers. she ate like a pig. a person who's flat-chested is very hard to be a 10. do you treat women with respect? uh... i can't say that either. i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. you brush your teeth diligently... two times a day right? but 80% of bacteria aren't even on teeth. eughty purschunt?! colgate total's different. it fights bacteria on teeth, tongue, cheeks and gums. protecting 100% of your mouth's surfaces. colgate total for whole mouth health. you brush your teeth diligently... two times a day right?
7:29 am
colgate total's different. it fights bacteria on teeth, tongue, cheeks and gums. protecting 100% of your mouth's surfaces. colgate total for whole mouth health. my dad was a family doctor in pinellas county for 55 years. he used to even take me on house calls. both my parents taught me to help others. that's why i believe in public service. as your governor we got things done, and if you send me to congress we can do it again. i'll protect social security and medicare. defend planned parenthood and women's health care. i'm charlie crist and i approve this message because i'll put you, the people first. (laura it only seems
7:30 am
>> this ball is outta here! 9-2. >>laura: it only seems fitting the world series is going to a seventh game for the two teams. cubs beat the indians last night 9-3. someone will end a long drought tonight. it's been 108 years since the cubs last won a world seri is closing it out for this game seven in cleveland. what a series to watch, joel. >> good morning to you. ironically it is the two teams with the longest droughts in major league baseball going up against each other tonight. the president of the chicago cubs tried to recruit two of its stars last winter by creating a video of them coming up to bat in the bottom of the ninth in
7:31 am
and tonight, that recruiting video could become reality >> rounding the bases, a lot of emotion was going through my head. just happy it came tonight. >>reporter: cubs won game six with addison russell hitting a pop fly to center field in the first inning. indians outfielders couldn't decide who should catc >> just one of those deals you wish you could take back. >>reporter: while the indians lost the game, they at least tried to wear out some pitchers for the final matchup. >> we talked about this before we even started. try to make them use pitching even in a loss. >>reporter: but chicago won the last game with the bats putting runs on the scoreboard. >> all of a sudden, our offense is having a resurgence which we need. >> a win from either team would
7:32 am
neither club has won a world series in decades. cubs fans are hoping the team can keep the momentum going. >> once in a lifetime, down 3-1. come back like this is just absolutely amazing. >>reporter: disappointed indians fans are still convined their team can pull off a victory. >> you've got to be nervous and you've got to be excited all in one. >>reporter: and cubs fans and indians fans are not the only ones who are pretty happy. so are fans of taco bell. that's promotion if there was a stolen base in the world series, they would give out free tacos all day and that day has arrived today. they warn against double digits. >>laura: i want to ask you before you go, because i know you've been with the story from start to finish and i don't know if you're a baseball fan but you were there to witness history either way. >>reporter: i'm a huge fan.
7:33 am
7-year-old kid. i used to dress up in my pajamas, practice my slides, do all of that and imagine a game like this. so to be here and watch it, you know, and just be able to sit in the dugout, which we had the chance to do, is really amazing. it's every kid's dream. to live it out here vicariously through the players and pretty awesome. >>laura: it may be okay to pick a side. okay. fing >>reporter: yeah. >>laura: thank you, joel. a little trivia. this is the 38th time a series has gone to game seven. cubs will need to win three games in a row. they did that 16 times during the regular season while the indians lost three in a row
7:34 am
very little about baseball except it's fun to watch. this has been fun to watch. but it is amazing to me the cubs have come back like this. >>laura: i know. >>russell: really. for the most part i think a lot of people had written them off. >>laura: and think about how short of a time period joe maddon has been there. we reported this yesterday. he and the kind of team he grooms loves to be an underdog for whatever reason. when the cards are against him, that's when they show up. >>russell: they don they'll get it soon with joe maddon. >>laura: tonight at 8:00. we see for sure. >>russell: also in sports this morning, lightning return home after a six game road trip. they won half of the games, including 6-1 blowout over the islanders last night. bolts play the bruins at amalie tomorrow night. first college football playoff rankings are out and only the top four at the end of the season will play for the national champ wronship in tampa
7:35 am
at the top. clemson second. michigan is third. this is where it gets controversial. texas a & m rounds out the top four. >>laura: it is just about 7:35 now. don't let your kids keep you from voting on election day. ymca may be available to baby-sit. alcides segui is live for us on this story this morning from a local ymca. it's a tall task for them, right? >>reporter: yeah. you know what? that's the yw it depends on what ymca you're referring to. we're at the ymca here in south tampa off himes avenue and i will tell you, this ymca is not participating in the free child care on election day. in fact, all ymca's in hillsborough county are not participating. i've contacted several public spokespersons and there are only two in the entire bay area that i know of that will be providing
7:36 am
and that is the ymca at north pinellas county. that is in palm harbor. they will be providing election day -- excuse me, free child care on election day the entire day. it's only allowed for an hour and a half. you do not have to be a member. and all you have to do is fill out a couple of papers and then everything should be okay. the other location is in hernando county, spring hill more specifically and they're providing free child again, most of your ymca's locally will not be providing free child care. here is the confusion with all of this. "usa today" did a story on this a couple of days ago, about four days ago and they said they interviewed the ymca of the u.s.a., the president there. and he came up with the idea of providing free child care for all ymca's. the "usa today" did the article and they said all ymca's were
7:37 am
that was clearly wrong because now a lot of local ymca's are saying we can't afford this. we can't do this for a number of reasons. but specifically, too, we don't have the number of employees to do it and b, we just don't have the facilities. our facilities are not big enough. again, the president of the national ymca said, you know, election days are one of the most important days in the u.s. this year and it's the ultimate opportunities for americans to make their v the democratic process. so that's absolutely correct but the issue is, if you talk to a lot of local chapters, they don't have the facilities for it, don't have enough employees for it. they love the idea but they just can't do it. so again, only two location here in the bay area are going to be doing it. that's in pinellas county, the other is hernando county. go to we're still trying to reach out to the ymca's down in sarasota, manatee and port charlotte but
7:38 am
and pinellas, only two will be doing it. >>laura: you would think that idea would be floated before the announcement was made. it will be interesting to see what they say. it would be a great service to offer. thank you. always a little more from alcides segui. we'll talk to him in the next hour. a handful of companies are looking to hire hundreds of people today. it's part of the greater tampa job fair by the tampa airport on cypress street. it's going from 11:00 to 2:00. dress for the job you want and make sure to bring plenty of copies of your resume. some companies will be hiring on the spot. it's free but you can rsvp ahead of time. >>russell: it's 7:38 right now. you can't believe everything you hear about the economy. the presidential candidates have made it sound pretty terrible.
7:39 am
certainly better than it was during the crash. geoff simon from raymond james in this morning with a reality check on things. good to see you. >> good morning. good to see you. >>russell: consumer sentiment. we'll start there. that seems to be an abstract. that one you can argue how people are feeling and then we'll get to hard numbers in a bit. >> consumer sentiment is declining. it had a really sharp drop over the past month. and you know, economic indicator so it gives you an idea or one of the factors that tells you where the economy may be heading and last month, consumer sentiment dropped 4%. for one month, that's a really, really significant drop which is ironic. we'll look at other numbers that indicate the economy is doing pretty well. but consumer sentiment dropped 4%. put that in context, if you look back at 2008, it's up 70% since the great recession.
7:40 am
than we were as far as consumer sentiment goes but all of a sudden, i think as a result of the stress of the election right now, we're seeing a pretty significant decline in consumer sentiment. >>russell: and let's look at the other numbers and try to maybe make people feel better about where we are. >> consumers a little bit on edge. we pointed that out. if you look at some of the other factors in the economy that really do measure how things are looking, the u.s. gross domestic product, a measurement of all the in the united states jumped 2.9% in the last quarter. that's a big increase, especially since the quarter before is only up 1 1/2%. if you look at what it's done since the great recession, it's actually increased 25%. so that's a pretty nice increase. unemployment is now at 5%. that is down. it's cut in half since the great recession of 2008. so unemployment is much better. the job market is better. leading economic indicators,
7:41 am
variables is up 1% so the sentiment in the big picture and the numbers in the big picture are up and they've increased 40% since the recession. that's a real positive. if you look at consumer spending, which is 70% of the economy depends on consumer spending, that jumped 2% and it's up 15% overall which should make retailers really happy. housing starts are now at 1.1 million annual housing starts 100%, doubled since the great recession. so on the whole, the economic picture is good and improving but at the same time, consumers are just not feeling very comfortable about where things stand and i think a lot has to do with the election. >>russell: and also, could it be also -- i'm sure a lot of it has to do with the election, but could it also be it's a slower than expected recovery?
7:42 am
from the increase. wages haven't necessarily gone up enough and the kind of jobs that people would like to have, they may not be able to get so you're right. there are some other factors out there because it's kind of a slow economy, slow growth economy and bills don't go away and people are a little bit on edge about that, although things are even improving when it comes to wages but it's been slow and that's been affected. >>russell: all right. hey, good to see you. >> you, too. >>russell: talk again >> okay. >>walter: morning there. tampa international airport continuously ranks extremely high among airports in the u.s. wemented to know why? the answer makes them this week's extraordinary ordinary. >> going to be amazing so anybody who hasn't been to the airport in three years and comes here, they're barely going to recognize it. what they are going to recognize is that the layout of the airport is not changed. it's still easy to get around. >>walter: a little more than a
