'cause i am the champion ? ? and you're gonna hear me roar ? ? oh, louder ? ? and you're gonna hear me roar ? i'm hillary clinton and i approve this message. from tampa bay's number 1 news station, this is the fox 13 news at noon. we are almost there their everyoneelection day one day away and donald trump knows he needs to win florida. he's making a campaign stop in sarasota to get out of the vote as we speak. >> good afternoon everyone i'm linda hurtado. thanks so much for joining us. after tomorrow it will be all over. we will know who will be the next president.
in our area. we will have a report from sarasota coming up.
our kimberly kuizon listening to trump and she is just walking out now so as soon as week get her live we will bring that report to you. if you haven't voted early your chance is up you have to wait until tomorrow election day a nearly half florida's registered voters have already voted and 13 million people took advantage of an early vote and vote by mail. florida is key to trump cam page. if he house. clinton campaign know that is really well. they are doing everything possible to make sure she wins the sunshine state. as part a last minute push dr. jill biden is also with jimmy buffett will perform later tonight. event albert whitted field and a doors open this afternoon about 3 o'clock. of course fox 13 will be there. to talk about all of this let's brink in a fox 13 political editor craig patrick.
already voted, trump and biden are campaigning here in florida. his going to make any difference late in game huge difference what we're seeing in early vote totals neck and neck. yes democrats close the gap day by day eventually out paced republicans. but they are not voting same level they did four years ago when president obama won the state by less than 1 point. what we're also seeing in the early vote totals that is hillary clinton is not energizing immobilizing african american voters. who strongly as did president obamafour years ago. what we are seeing though is a spike in hispanic voters who polls show strongly favor hillary clinton. the question is, to what extent may that be a wash for her. there's some concern really for both sides because donald trump mat mat cannot win the white house without winning the state of florida. and what we're seeing numbers is that more than half probably have already cast their ballots. and will rest on the remain thing voters who turn out on
tended to be republican. what will the pattern be, it really depends among other things on how well each side gets their supporters out to vote which why stump speech and rallies can make a great deal of difference donald trump has to win florida to stand a chance and probably has to flip one state that is currently leading clinton why there is so much focus on state of michigan. >> so what about f.b.i. director now saying that the new emails don't, do not change the agency's decision to not prosecute hillary clinton? will that affect the race or already done? >> yes and yes. the damage was already done to hillary clinton. you have comey in effect clearing hillary clinton. then 11 days before election taking it back. now he's taking back taking it back which leaves a lot of people confused. two it already changed narrative in a negative direction for hillary clinton. so in that respect, her momentum has already be blounted. donald trump gained from it so that damage was already done. i honestly don't know what
logic tells you it would help hillary clinton. but on the same hand or other hand, it also could help donald trump because it makes people lose faith in government. what they perceive waivering back and forth. that's what donald trump is has all about trying to shake up washington. we will just is to see of course tomorrow night. can't believe it's almost here. almost here. of course we will have complete election result coverage right here on fox 13 on our website. www.fox13news.com and starting at 7 tomorrow night. well the tenor of this election is ugly. people doing things saying things that many think are just horrible. hopefully this will all stop on wednesday no doubt people are also nervous on both sides of political aisle. because of uncertainty ahead, there's been a record sales of firearms. for this 17th month in a row gun sales have hit a record, in fact a new poll says 16 percent of people are planning on purchasing a gun as a result of the election. those numbers are higher in the south nearly 20 percent.
25 percent of the people and women, even higher. the f.b.i. says it processed 22.3 million background checks last month for gun purchases. >> well first woman u.s. attorney general janet reno has died. she diedally this morning in miami of complications from parkinson's disease. reno spent eight years a nations top law enforcement official during the clinton administration. she made national news for authorizing the armed seizure of 5-year-old home of his relative so he could be returned to cuba with his father. it you lived here you probably remember that she faced criticism early in tenure tore deadly raid in was could, texas. where sect leader david koresh and 80 followers died and unsexly ran for florida governor back in 2002. reno spent her last days in home in miami surrounded by family and friends. she was 78. the manatee county sheriff's office is investigating shooting
bradenton. the shooting happened just after 4:30 sunday afternoon. in 3300 block of fourth street east. >> deputies say someone drove the injured woman to hospital where she died. and search now continues for the shooter. fox 13's shayla reeves spoke with the young lady's family. well a father tells me he waited outside for a car to pull up outside of his home last night. knowing he would never see his daughter behind the wheel again. the last few hours have been difficult for wife jan. the parents are trying to make sense of losing their daughter as authorities continue the search for answers in her death. right now you are looking at some pictures san francisco 18-year-old mariah hope good during happier times. her mother described her as a caring and loving child. one who had a smile she said was simply unforgettable.

and i wouldn't lose any voters, okay?
and you can tell them to go f--- themselves! you know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever... you gotta see this guy. ahh, i don't know what i said, ahh. "i don't remember." he's going like "i don't remember!? it's kind of a morbid question... but it's one we all have to face sooner or later: after you die, what do you want done with your remains? a recent study shows 78-percent of americans are after adie what do you want down with your remains. 78 percent of americans are opting to be cremated rather than buried. did you know there's a cremation
wow. so this is bio cremation chamber. say hello to future of good-bye. hope you're not claustrophobic because you're about to go where no person has gone before. the door sort of like a submarine, by the way. and watertight obviously. and dark. but before we explain what happens in here, we should introduce you to melanie heath a pinellas park woman who had rough go o cancer took her husband's life in may. her son took his his on two months later. it is, it was a very sad time to say the least. her husband reggie long ago decided to he wanted to be cremate. when melanie rent went anderson mcqueen funeral home she wasn't expecting owner to give her a choice. would you prefer the flame cremation or flameless krae may gos. i just looked at him rather
cremation? which brings us back to the watertight stainless steel contraption in this room brand name is resonator that sounds a little creepy. owner john mcqueen calls it bio cremation machine. this is high pressure system. after body goes into the chamber, it's immersed in solution of water and the potassium hydroxide heated to 350 degrees. the body tissue rapidly decomposes. leavin behind only bones. which are w melody says that's part that sold her. >> i thought wow. you know, water. that's better. i like that. she says the idea of cremation by fire had always left her a little uneasy. all kinds of images come to mind. and none of them good. from where you might possibly be going to funeral fires. you just picture all of violent burning things. but then when he talked about
that's a lots gentler. i think of beach, i think of a lake. i think of a spa. i have one gentleman tell me one time to him it sounded like a big jacuzzi. anderson mcqueen was first funeral home to offer bio cremation four years ago and still one of only two in u.s. doing it. he says growing in popularity and now makes up eight percent of their cremations. it cost $145 more than flame cremation but you also get more of your loved one percent more. >> obviously with the fire it does destroy more of the remains. that was bonus for me that was just a bonus. the past year has been tough on melanie. but she says she's resting easier now knowing there's a flameless path to her final resting place. i thought, yeah. that really seals it up. and it does seal it up. it does. it was interesting to see that machine.
cremation is more environmental trend friendly than fiery predecessor it yoousz one seventh the energy and produces no emission unlike flame cremation which can actually put mercury in air. you can look final way of helping earth after your time on it is done. an earthquake overnight substantially damages 40 to 50 buildings between objection and tulsa quake ad 5.0 last night worse after shocks have been reported. centered near town of curbing, ho the town bills pipe lines cross roads of the road. police there were no reports of any injuries. i happened to look up. i swear it looked like ceiling was about to collapse on me. the walls were shaking. ceiling's moving scary and still shook up about it. >> oklahoma has had thousands of earthquakes in the last few years with most of them being attributed to oil and gas production putting waste water into underground wells.
take look at this video showing volcano summit spattering is active. you can see it. we're also getting a look eastern portion of lava lake. that's where lava continues to enter the sea. no communities are in danger at this time. wow. majestic to watch, mother nature. >> so jim, a gorgeous weekend here we are another work week. hope it's going to be nice and cool. fall weekend in florida. but really a nice one with lots of sun, a little bit lower humidity. we kind of continue with had lower humidity theme over next several days. we've got more clouds working there way in. we started out with decent amount of sun this morning. but it really over the past probably half an hour to 45 minutes had lot more of these high clouds kind of working there way in kind gives that milky appearance to the sky. we continue to deal with at least some some of these as we go through next couple hours still he decent amount of sun as
kind of see on visible satellite loop you've got clouds moving in two different directions. the lower level clouds are kind of coming in just like we've seen over the past couple of weeks from that easterly direction. and then the clouds you see scooting in from the west, those are all mid and upper level clouds. none of are rain producing clouds. we remain rain free again for today. outside right now. we're currently sitting at 79 degrees. dew point's 55. so that lower dew point certainly makes it feel more humidity is 44 percent. winds are currently out of the east at 10 miles an hour. although it has been breezy in some locations. we'll continue with those breezy conditions as we go through the afternoon as well. over in lack land right now you're 81 degrees. brandon has an 82. st. petersburg currently at 76 degrees. you head down into sarasota, already, up to 83 degrees. so even though we had cold front come through through the weekend. really did not cool things down just dried atmosphere out. even though we're going to see
the mid 80s and many locations, still feels fairly comfortable outside. just because we've got the dryer air in place. with dew points running in 50s and some low 60s in some areas, that's what makes it feel so much more comfortable outside. that's going to be pretty much the case as we go through the week. we're not going to see any big things come through here to really pump the moisture back in. just slowly kind of inch back up as we go through the next couple of days. satellite and radar over the state. u shower activity. some thunderstorms out into the gulf of mexico. with ridge of high pressure sitting to the north kind of pooling some of the this moisture back up into the southern portion of louisiana, up into arkansas as well an a little trough developing over here. we will watch that as away go through next several days. m of sma moisture will work its way towards us as we've got cold front moving through mid section of the country. kind of sinking down to the
we go through middle of week. when i say slightly a 20 percent chance of some showers as we get into wednesday. so again, not a real big deal across the area. and mild temperatures across eastern third. flint any not new york city currently sitting at 58. cooler temperatures you really have to go across the upper plains back across rocky mountains to find any colder air. so future cast shows that front just works its way across the scattered showers right through middle of the country. into the mississippi valley. for us a breezy conditions. over the next couple of days. and maybe that slight chance of a couple of showers as we head towards middle of the week. that's just about otherwise. fairly typical work week. partly cloudy for today. daytime high 84. then for tonight, a few clouds around. overnight low of 64. another nice looking day for tomorrow. mix of sun and clouds. pleasant afternoon daytime high
winds are out east the 15 knots. seas two to three feet. gulf temperatures cool down to 74 degrees. high tide coming up the 9:08 this evening. your seven-day forecast, and really some pretty quiet weather. partly cloudy skies. daytime highs in sxar 80 degrees as we go through the week. those overnight lows really pretty comfortable in the mid to lower 60s. linda. >> thank you, jim. south carolina kidnapping case is getting more bizarre. and frightening. now authorities say the man and keeping her chained in metal storage container is serial killer suspected in several
