and right now at 11:00 hurricane matthew keeps the east coast on edge. here is live look at the isl of palm. the storm did not make landfall but as you can see it is taking a devastating toll and the historic storm churns up the atlantic, georgia and carolinas in the danger zone meaning iconic american cities like savannah and charleston getting damaging winds and could see devastating flooding. good evening i'm dawn tim feature we are watching the hurricane very closely all night for you. here's the very latest. at least four people died in florida. two of the victims an elderly couple who died from carbon monoxide fumes while running a generator in theirs garage. two others were killed by fallen trees. 500,000 people were under evacuation orders in the jacks jacksonville area. along with another half million on the georgia coast. more than 300,000 people left their homes in south carolina.
some areas get this are expecting up to 15-inches of rain along with a storm surge of up to 9 feet. and now with new information on what the storm is doing at this moment let's check in with meteorologist scott williams. >> hi there, dawn. just got that 11:00 o'clock advisory in on matthew still a category two hurricane. winds down about 5 miles an hour now to 105 miles per hour winds but the movement still to the north at about 12 miles per hour. it's 70 miles to the south southeast of savannah, georgia. take look at what's happening right now. you can see there's some drier air on the southern part of the hurricane so eroding some of the rain bands. but on the northern part take look at this intense band moving toward savannah hilton head and charleston. we still have tornado watch in effect until midnight for those locations. also, heavy rain, storm surge that is going to be the problem. we could see storm surge six to 8 feet from savannah up through the coast of the carolinas. now take look at the water vapor
imagery where you see to bright green we have most of the that tropical moisture once again some of that drier air trying to entrain into that system allowing it to weaken a little bit as those pressures have been rising as we take look at the latest track in with that 11:00 o'clock advisory, moving it toward charleston right around 6am tomorrow morning. it could potentia potentially me landfall as category one hurricane moving off the coast of myrtle beach toward wilmington, north carolina still as category one by tomorrow night and then take a look at what happens over the weekend into early next week. it does a loop de loop and heads back to the south so, of course, we could still be talking about matthew into next week. we're going to update that entire forecast coming up but first we want to talk a little bit about what's going to happen here at home. for tomorrow we're looking at mostly cloudy skies out there. the threat of a couple of showers. clearing though for the second half the weekend. turning cooler look at the
numbers. only mid 60s for high temperatures on sunday. moving into monday, temperatures in the city in the 40s. 64 for the high temperature on columbus day and then as we move toward tuesday, wednesday and thursday of next week temperatures right around average for this time of year in the upper 60s. back over to you. dawn? good thank you scott. the hurricane has weakened tonight the worse could still be on the way for parts of georgia and south carolina for the coastlines there. residents are being warned about potential for storm surge. the storm has already caused massive flooding and downed trees. hundreds of thousands of people remain without power tonight. new developments in this storm we'll continue to break overnight and they'll be changing. you can get the very latest tomorrow morning on good day weekend philadelphia starting at 7:00 o'clock. scott will have the very latest on the storm's track andville constant updates on the impact all morning long. of course your fox 29 weather authority is tracking the storm all night. you can go to fox29.com.
click on the weather tab at the top of the home page for the latest live radar images. tempt-year-old man is in the hospital tonight after police say someone shot and stabbed him in university city. sky fox over the scene at 38th and market streets around 7:30 tonight. police say the man was shot once in the leg and stabbed in the neck. he is at penn presbyterian hospital in stable condition. police say that the victim knew his attacker but at last check police did not have that person in custody. right now philadelphia police releasing video of a scary home invasion. police say that it shows the men who invaded a woman's home in overbrook. investigators say they tied her up and then they robbed her. this was wednesday morning. you can see the men walking around the home along with 5600 block of woodbine avenue. police say they broke in, they bound the woman's mouth with duct tape and zip tied her hands she was able to run out of the house somehow to get help. employees say the two men got away after stealing the woman's
phone, cash and her car. they were last seen in a 2006 hyundai sonata. new controversy in you decide tonight. donald trump is apologizing for what he calls locker room banter as a shocking video surfaces. video is from 2005. and it picks up a hot mike while trump is talking with billy bush the host of access hollywood. in it the republican presidential candidate details a failed attempt at seducing wom women. he also details how his celebrity impacted his interaction with women. >> when you're a celebrity they let do you. you can do anything. >> whatever you want grab them by the bleep. do anything. >> that video will provide new am mission for hillary clinton as the two pre pair fort second debate sunday night. clinton in fact tweeting tonight "this is horrific. we cannot allow this man to become president ". in his dough fence of the comment donald trump went on to say bill clinton said far worse
to him on the golf course. but trump is taking fire from his own party. in a statement tonight spokesman for republican national committee chairman priebus said "no woman should ever be described in these terms or talked about in this manner. ever ". priebus is scheduled to appear with trump in wisconsin tomorrow but house speaker paul ryan said tonight "i'm sickened by what i heard today. women are to be championed and revered not objectified. i hope mr. trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than the clip suggests ". >> ryan added that trump has been diss invited from that gop event in wisconsin tomorrow. happening now, new jersey has been known for one of the cheapest states to get gas but now residents are bracing for the price to go up. state lawmakers voted to raise the gas tax to 23 more cents a
gallon. they're still a few weeks to take advantage of the lower prices before that tax hike takes effect. fox 29's brad sattin is in pennsauken with more on when you can expect to see the inn increase. i know people are not happy about this. >> reporter: how can you be happy about it? it certainly is coming and there doesn't seem to be a lot of doubt new jersey roads and bridges need some help. the question is at what cost? people not happy about this seeing new jersey's gas tax going from the second lowest in the country to the seventh highest. get ready for sticker shock at pump coming soon to a new jersey gas station near you. >> we pay enough taxes as it is. now we got to pay another tax. it's horrible. >> reporter: after filling up without a hike in the state gas tax since 19 kate 98 a 23-cent a gallon increasing from 14.5 cents a gallup to 37.5 cents. pennsylvania is still higher at more than 50 cents. delaware will come the cheapest in our area with attacks of 23

although we're getting pushed around with gusts here and there. keep in mind though the winds are kind of tethered to the eye of this hurricane and matthew is now moving up about 12 miles an hour from saint simons island in georgia about 90 miles away you figure the brunt of the storm will be here in five to six hours time. the issue with that it's going to coincide with high tide. they're expecting were you a six to 9-foot storm surge. you couple that with 7 feet of water during high tide you're talking potentially 16 feet of water. it's going to somewhere. that's savannah river behind me which is actually on the delayed high tide bye-bye an hour or two. this area will flood out behind me. the question is, how bad will the other coastal areas around here be. good chance a lot of them will be underwater with infrastructure damage. but hopefully no lives lost. dawn? >> joel, have emergency responders, have they had to rescue anyone yet?
>> reporter: we have not heard any reports but, you know, we're kind of isolated here. i mean the city is basically shut down. first responders the mayor here made it very clear they will not go out in the height of the storm. we saw them patrolling river street which is behind me for, you know, several hours at the early onset of the storm one the rain started but in the last three hours i'd say we have not seen a single police car go by. the hunch that i have they are done for the night. they'll wait for the storm to pass basically everyone now is on their own. >> joel waldman in savannah, thank uh-uh see it you shoot it our fresco users are helping us show what's happening in your neighborhood. so chris o'connell is here to tell us what's going on. chris? >> well, as we just saw florida deals with the devastation from hurricane matthew. hundreds of residents have filed price gouging complaints. they claim business owners are hiking prices on the necessities
