the pendulum between police and despair. >> a new poster for jesse matthew. he is charged with two counts of reckless driving. police broke off a car chase on saturday and matthew has not been seen by authorities since. >> hannah is brilliant, resill i resilient, and loves life more than anyone i know. if anyone could get through this, it is hannah. >> jesse matthew is the man in the surveillance video on the charlottesville mall who passes right in front of the camera and then right after hannah graham walks by in the distance, they say matthew is the man who turned around and is following her. >> i believe jesse matthew was the last person she was seen with before she vanished off the face of the earth. >> police were just back at matthew's charlottesville home, serving a second search warrant and removing several items. just as they had last week.
but they have yet to announce that they have collected any physical evidence that puts hannah graham in his home or in his car. >> we need to find out what happened to hannah and make sure it doesn't happen to anybody else. >> billboards have gone up across the commonwealth of virginia offering details of this case. police are hoping that will bring them to jesse matthew and to hannah graham. in charlottesville. bruce leshan, wusa9. >> and people have been doing a lot of things with that story. saying they spotted someone looking like matthew, but nothing so far. >> okay, and police say they are going to be revealing some surveillance video from businesses in the effort to find sarah and jacob hoggle. police met with family members today. their father believe an amber alert should be issued.
two massive searches failed to find any trace of the children. the accused white house fence jumper is going to stay in jail until he gets another hearing. omar gonzalez was in court today and while he was armed with a knife when he was stopped inside the executive mansion, they also found a small arsenal in his car. here is debra alfarone. >> everyone out. >> while this was happening friday, we now know 800 rounds of newly bought ammo sat waiting in alleged white house jumper, omar gonzalez's car. ammo he did not have when the secret service stopped the iraq war veteran less than a month ago. >> have to go out the 17th street exit, please. >> gonzalez was stopped with a hatchet in his waistband. cops found no ammunition and released him. what's more, a month before that and 300 miles away, police arrested gonzalez on a felony charge july 19 in virginia for
eluding police and carrying a sawed off shotgun and a map with the white house in another spot lecircd on it. the homeless veteran is said to be suffering from ptsd. he told police saturday, he wanted to warn the president about the atmosphere. this is his ex-wife, samantha bell. >> he needs the proper treatment to help him. he needs help. he's mentally unstable. >> gonzalez will be held until his next hearing, which is october 1. he is being called a flight risk and a danger to the president. at the federal courthouse, wusa9. >> they will fight any efforts to expand the security barriers outside the white house. they are telling bruce johnson that they should be examining security inside the white house gates. >> did you hear about the guy jumping over the fence? going through the unlocked door? could this happen in new zealand? >> not a lot. >> visitors to the nation's capitol were at the fence and on the fence today when talking about the security breech at
the white house. >> well, i think what we heard is the president wasn't home at the time, so that's good. >> there seems to be a lot of security outside and inside the fence surrounding the white house grounds today. d.c. congressional delegates says, that is where the secret service effort should stop. she says the agency has to first explain how omar gonzalez was able to get inside an unlocked white house door after scaling the fence this weekend. >> my first reaction is, why didn't they lock the door? my second reaction is, why was he able to get so far? >> reports say the secret service is now considering measures that will move people further away from the fence and keep them off the sidewalks surrounding the white house. there's even talk of screening visitors to the white house a block away from the entrance. >> you know, we got check points to get into buildings. now we are going to have check points to get in front of buildings. not unless you can show that is

toddler who squeezed through the fence last month and the salahi's who snuck into a state dinner in 2009. crooks claiming to be from the irs a targeting folks in our area. and a couple head's up cashiers help to stop the scam. >> this irs scam i'm about to tell you about is so widespread, safeway has been training its cashiers to spot victims. >> and i said, excuse me, are you buying these for the irs? >> that's cashier, pat keller, attempting to buy money transfer cards like these, while nervously on the phone with someone claiming to be from the irs, giving them directions. >> and i said, this is a scam. don't do it, hang the phone up. >> keller is credited with saving the couple, but according to montgomery county police, 18 other victims have lost in the sounding, $95,000
in the last six months in montgomery county alone. the scam works like this. you get a call from somebody claiming to be from the irs and they say you owe back taxes whether you know it or not and a warrant has been issued for your immediate arrest. now, there's no time to argue about it and there's no time for checks in the mail. but, if you buy a cash transfer card and send the irs money immediately, you at least won't go to jail. it is a complete scam. take it from the irs. >> we will never call you about taxes you owe without first mailing you an official notice. we would never require you to use a specific payment method for tax purposes such as the prepaid debit card. we will never ask for credit or debit card numbers over the telephone. >> unfortunately, the scammers have not been arrested, but local police and the irs want you to report it. if you've ever been called by these scammers. in rockville, scott broom,
wusa9. >> three afghan soldiers who went missing up in massachusetts, they have been found. in fact, they were located today trying to get to canada. those soldiers told the customs agents they were refugees. earlier this month, two afghan police officers who were training with the dea vanished while on a trip in georgetown. the police officers were located and will be sent back to afghanistan. secretary of state, john kerry, met with more world leaders trying to build up that coalition. carely kerry met to talk about their common enemy. it is unclear what america would want from iran, but the u.s. ambassador says they won't be sharing any military operations or intelligence with them. kerry says he expects turkey will get in the fight. clashes broke out of the turkish border today. still ahead on wusa9, there could be something else falling
