a good day to get your running around done early in the day before the rain comes in, then we have some temperature changes to talk about. it is down, cool, but not as as we could be -- as cold as we could be or it should be this time of the year. overnight lows near freezing. again, fairly mild. by 11:00, we are still in the 40's. we will stay close to 50 degrees for our high temperature in the upstate today. you will not make it out of the 40's and upstate north carolina. here is spartanburg. not everybody has the fog this morning, but it has been quite dense especially in the piedmont state. no measurable precipitation coming down, but a little bit of

plenty of clouds that will continue to stream our way. raising in our direction will be a band of rain for little later on. i had of it, we will get a few showers this afternoon, but then it is mainly in the overnight hours that we see heavier rain comes through. it moves on t tugh, see you have a decent looking sunday. look at what happens between sunday with a high 55 and monday morning. in the upstate, it will be in the 20's. we will talk more about that coming up. myra: thank you. the countdown is on for monday nights national championship game, against second ranked alabama. but before the tigers touched down in arizona, they got a proper send off from hundreds of fans.

of america in the world, and the role of commander in chief, not an entertainer in chief or a agitator in chief or a divider in chief. we need a commander in chief who understands how serious times are right now. myra: bush also talked about his plans to fight terrorism, fix social security, and stimulate the economy. he has two stops scheduled for columbia today, and one in hilton head in this evening. republican presidential front runner donald trump was in rock hill for a rally at winthrop university on friday night. there were hundreds of thousands of people there, and many of them stood in line for hours waiting to get in. trump hit the stage five hours after the first supporters arrived. about 5,000 or so packed in here for the visit at winthrop university. donald trump: we have a president that wants kill the second amendment. we have hillary clinton who

we have to be strong on immigration and we have to build a big, beautiful wall. a big, beautiful wall. myra: we're five weeks out from the south carolina primary. in the latest winthrop poll from december, trump was in the lead, 8 points ahead of the second place, senator ted cruz. meanwhile, another top south carolina gop official is coming out against donald trump. greenville county chairman chad groover, has decided to go public with his endorsement of jeb bush. groover says he believes that jeb bush is quote, a true conservative. he points to his record as governor of florida, his knowledge of the issues, and groover believes he is ready to lead on day one, which he does not believe donald trump is ready to do. most of the candidates will return to the carolinas next week. charleston is the site of both the upcoming president debates. the republicans meet on january

as expected...president oba myrara as expected, president obama has vetoed a congressional bill that would have repealed the affordable health care act, also known as obamacare. republicans have pushed several measures to repeal the controversial health care law. this was the first one to pass congress and head to the president's desk. the president said the law would have reversed significant progress, as he called it in , america's health care system. the measure would also have cut federal funding of planned parenthood.

drug kingpin "el chapo" guzman has been arrested. el chapo escaped from his prison cell last year through an underground tunnel. that was 6-months ago. we're told authorities cornered him in the city of los mochis in his home, the state of sinaloa. five people were killed in the gunbattle that took him down. a mexican marine was also wounded. el chapo has previously escaped from prison twice. a father is under investigation after his toddler was seen driving his small motorized car down a busy highway. two people also saw the boy, and got out of their cars to help. when they tried to stop the boy, he told them he wanted to keep going. the boy's father showed up ten minutes later. he says he was in the bathroom when his son slipped out of the house. he's telling witnesses his son got out by climbing onto a chair, and unlocking the door. a close call for an atlanta woman.

car off the fourth level of a parking garage. steel cables along the edge of the garage kept the vehicle from falling. an officer reached into the rear left door and pulled the driver to safety. she's been charged with driving under the influence. here's something you don't see every day. tons of shoes covering the florida turnpike near miami gardens yesterday they spilled all over the road when a truck overturned this afternoon. -- yesterday afternoon. police had to close off an exit ramp so they could clean up the mess. two people were hurt and taken away on stretchers. it's not clear what caused the

myra: not a bad idea. let's take a look across the country. we want to show you this man who police say shot an officer in philadelphia thursday night used a stolen gun, and pledged his allegiance to isis. investigators say edward archer approached a marked car around midnight and opened fire. officer jesse hartnett was shot at least 11 times, but still got out and ran after archer. officer is now in serious condition. the gun used in the attack is a police firearm that was stolen from a home. a passenger's bizarre outburst forced a plane to make an unscheduled stop witnesses say about 30 minutes after the united airlines flight took off from new york, a woman asked if she could get off the plane. they say when a flight attendant told the woman no, she lost it. >> the girl went crazy and attacked her.

up, and return a close off. myra: witnesses say she then attacked another woman. that's when three other passengers stepped in. they tackled her and tied her up. the pilots then diverted the plane to detroit. there police handcuffed the woman and took her off the plane. the flight then continued onto its original destination. this is not a raging fire. this is a raging fire that forced more than a dozen people out of their homes. it happened yesterday in kansas city. residents had to evacuate very quickly. some reportedly jumping out of windows. firefighters say the front of the building collapsed. the roof caved in. at least two people were taken to the hospital at this point. we do not have any word on their conditions. take a look. you hear the stories,that hoverboards are causing fires all around the country. the latest fire happened in oklahoma city. a charred wall with a hole in it is the remains of what happened.

turning to some must see video myra: let's turn to some must-see video now. a young girl is thinking facebook for reuniting her with her beloved stuffed animal. sierra lost her best friend "monkey" while she and her family were at a basketball game. her dad called the area and workers searched the place for monkey, but they couldn't find it. turns out, two kids stumbled across the stuffed animal outside the arena. their mom helped them post a picture of monkey on facebook. that picture was shared nearly three thousand times and in less than a day, sierra and her monkey were back together again. >> i would like to say thank you

anderson, 46. our highs will go up to 52 degrees today. these temperatures really are quite mild, when you consider asheville average lows, 57 for this time of year. we are in the mid 40's, when we are typically close to the freezing mark in the upstate. we are all above average for today. temperature wise, we will not go up much. not a lot of sunshine for the afternoon. rain does move in. a blast of cold air. this is a serious one, truly out
