missing, along with 11 others, off the coast of hawaii. the impact he had on people here at home. mike: happening now in anderson county, the coroner and the highway patrol are investigating a fatal crash. troopers say it happened at the intersection of smith mcgee road and good hope church road. they say it happened just after 4:00 this afternoon. so far, no word on the victims name. authorities say this is now the third fatal crash in southern anderson county in just 24 hours. we will continue to follow this story as it develops. we'll keep you updated on wyff4.com, and through our mobile app. turning to the weather now, take a look at these viewer photos from the western north carolina area. look at the snow that came down. the pictures came out of the hendersonville area. pretty scenic, right? chris justus is in the weather center, tracking the latest. chris, now we have to worry about low temperatures. chris: it is coming in like a
the pink indicates below zero temperatures. it will be brutally cold headed into overnight hours. it will be here, with wind as well. the national weather service has issued a wind chill advisory for the mountains, where it could feel like -10 degrees by tomorrow morning. here, temperatures are cooling. 42 in greenville, 32 in asheville. factor in the wind, or what it feels like on your skin, pretty windy. 18 mile-per-hour winds in hendersonville make it feel like 25 degrees, 23 in asheville. overnight, look where the lows are headed. going to the single digits and teens in the mountains. 12 in asheville, 14 in hendersonville, 27 in greenville. that is with the wind. tomorrow morning, it will feel like negative five to -10 degrees. the mountains may not get above freezing for a couple days. i will have the forecast coming up.

yearbook picture from his senior year. his principal says staff members at the school haven't forgotten sempler's quiet personality, and said in part, quote, "he possessed a quick and witty sense of humor. he was a young man who thought of others before thinking about himself. we are grieved by the news of the accident, but remember him warmly, and with great pride." the search grows more desperate with each passing day, off the coast of hawaii. officials say sempler and 11 other marines were traveling in two helicopters during a nighttime training mission thursday. somehoho the helicopters crashed off the shore of the hawaiian island of oahu. >> we've seen debris. we haven't -- it is consistent with a military aircraft. it is in various shapes. corey: the search now stretches an 8-mile area. helicopters, boats, and planes are being used to find the missing service members. right now, crews are battling rough weather and pounding surfs. >> we are here to be brave. corey: meanwhile, people who live nearby are holding candlelight vigils for the marines, hoping for answers,

32 in asheville, 42 in greenville with winds coming down the mountains. quite a bit warmer in the upstate where it is 51 in elberton. it will be getting cold probably us tonight. the windchill, what it feels like on your skin, 13 in boone, 23 and asheville, 36 in spartanburg. overnight, it will be even colder. maybe you are taking the dog out one last time in asheville-hendersonville, it will feel like 17 degrees by 10: 30. overnight, dangerously cold. care for your pets, look after your neighbors. we'll be dangerous tomorrow morning. feeling like negative or in asheville and hendersonville, feels like 19 below

in anderson, 29, rising t41 degrees with sunshine. in asheville, you will not get out of the 20's. high 28. that is tomorrow afternoon. typically this time of year, we should be in the 50's in the upstate. tomorrow at 4:00, temperatures continued to go down. a quick cool down, 32 by 4:00, 18 by 4:00 or 5:00 tomorrow evening. the cold air coming in from a big piece of the, a big upper low in minneapolis, sending down cold air to our area. it will be downright chilly all week long, we will see temperatures in the 20's and 30's and 40's eventually by friday. that sets us up for our next system. we will watch another low moving
i will start you off with wednesday. cold, but there's moderate -- temperatures moderate. the low to -- will be moving west-east. on the northern side of the low will be snowfall. the track has it to where basically, paralleling the mississippi-alabama-tennessee line right here. mainly rain for all of us. the european models take it from birmingham to atlanta, basically to columbia, which would give us some snow. the track of the low is everything. we will watch this closely. the timeframe would be friday and saturday, cold air wrapping around the backside of this as it moves of these turns he. this would be a very big -- snow maker from boston to washington. it could affect us friday. sunshine over the next several days, temperatures topping out in the upper 30's to around 40 degrees.
