tonight. >> reporter: this has been changing by the moment. in fact prince george's county police officers just started briefing over here a few minutes ago but i've got some information before that let me share what we know so far. police say about 6:00 tonight a heated argument broke out in an apartment at this complex between two men. one of those men is an off-duty fort meyers military police officer. that argument spilled out into the parking lot. they say the man -- the roommate who they're now calling the suspect in this case grabbed the off-duty officer's gun and began opening fire in broad daylight in the parking lot of the apartment complex hitting and striking that officer with his own gun. what we're told then happened is an off-duty capital police officer -- capitol police officer just happened to be coming by, saw what was going on. he also got out of his car and got involved in all of this so there were at least two people firing. three people involved. all three of them were shot. in the meantime a stray bullet went inside an apartment building and struck a 12-year

here on the campus of george mason, this is what they're doing about this particular issue, they're sending out these letters and giving them to the students explaining what's in this drink, how dangerous it is and what kind of impact it can have on a student if they drink it. >> like so far, we haven't had any incidences at all, but we're trying to be proactive as we can to give people a head's up and warn them of the potential dangers. >> everyone knows that caffeine is an upper and alcohol is a depressant so they're not good for each other. it has all the adrenalin in it and also the alcohol and that can be really bad. >> reporter: now, also tonight, we spoke with fusion, the company, to get reaction on this story and an e-mail from a spokesperson, they say that people have safely mixed and consumed alcohol and caffeine products for years. for loco has roughly the same amount of alcohol content as some beers, wine and far less alcohol by volume than hard liquor. a can of one of our loco has tf caffeine as a tall starbucks coffee. we're disappointed by recent banns of our product.

george's county. thanks for joining us, everyone. i'm laura evans in tonight for brian. >>> i'm shawn yancy. a 911 call led officers to the bodies early this morning. that call came from a house along 3rd street in lanham. fox 5's stacey cohan is there now to start us off. >> reporter: i can tell you there are a total of four people that have been killed at this scene. a 3-year-old girl, a 5-year-old boy, two women in their 30s all shot to death. now, it happened actually not in the front house but as you can see from some video that we have, there is a building behind that home. there was an apartment over a garage structure. that is where the bodies were found. and even more gruesome in the way in which these people were murdered is the way that they had been living. the two women and two children died amidst the squaller in which me had lived in an apartment above this attach -- they had lived in an apartment above this attached garage. >> the crime scene is a location that i think that no human being should have been living at this location. there's no running water. there's trash

name is craig baxam, 24 years old, a product of prince george's county, accused by federal prosecutors of trying to join a somalian based terrorist organization called al-shabaab. baxam was arrested by police in kenya two weeks ago and brought back to the u.s. friday. he was a member of the largo high school class of 2005. dwayne jones was his principal. >> what i can remember is that he was a pretty good student and i wish i could tell you more and hopefully this situation he's in is just an allegation and it's not true of. reporter: according to prosecutors, baxam joined the army in 2007, was deployed to iraq, reenlisted after he came home, was sent to korea and while there left the army last summer. prosecutors say baxam converted toes i happen shortly before leaving the mill -- to islam shortly before leaving the military and decided to move to africa, specifically somalia, to become a terrorist. this is baxam's mother, herself a lawyer, leaving the federal courthouse in greenbelt this afternoon, clearly not thrilled to be a part of this story. baxam's lawyer also not interested in
