of places. it's been a bit slower for them to get to the side roads. prince george's county started off with about 150 or so trucks this morning. they quickly called in another 100 or so. all those crews are now on 12- hour shifts trying to stay ahead of the ice that threaten to make the morning commute a mess. out on the major roads we spotted few problems but some drivers told us they still found a patch or two of ice and they're worried about what the morning commute will bring. >> i'm afraid that, you know, there's going to be some black ice out there. people are going to be slipping and sliding. >> even though the main roads are clear, they're wet. so i'm scared overnight as people stop driving that they'll freeze. >> reporter: in prince george's county there are some 250 trucks out on the road clearing and salting. the light snowfall was the least of their problems. >> the trouble actually has been ice throughout the day because the temperatures are so cold the pavement temperatures have not risen above 22 today and when they're that cold, whatever falls, snow or anything, is

george's county and charms, a couple of -- charles, a couple of things east of camp springs. nothing that's a real big deal. perhaps u get some free lawn watering out of a couple of these but most of these will be dying out as we go through the next few hours. temperature wise that was a bigger deal today. 98 degrees. at least it wasn't as troopically humid as it has been at other times but this 98 did tie a record set back in 1943. 95 and 97 for dulles and bwi. no record set there. dulles may break a record tomorrow though. we certainly know it's going to be hot and humid again tomorrow. more humid tomorrow than it was today. some spotty afternoon thunderstorms could cook up with that increase in humidity. it will be less hot by thursday, though. i think that's when we may get to 9 on or perhaps the upper 80s. we're spinning this the best we can, folks. yes, another tropical storm may be forming. we have tropical depression five tonight that could become danielle. gunman who killed three women then himself at a pennsylvania gym last week. george sodini was apparently questioned by police just the week before that shooting. he was taken into custody after a passenger on a bus reported seeing a man with a grenade. but police say the witness couldn't identify sodini so they let him go. authorities say he kept a blog planning the attack and referenced a grenade in one of his many diaries. >>> the seventh person accused of plotting terrorist attacks to be carried out all over the world will stay behind bars for now. he was in court today after asking last week for a new attorney and a new translator. he and six others were arrested in north carolina and all seven will be held until their trial. an eighth person is still at large believed to be in pakistan. >>> a deadly day in iraq. ten bombings have left at least people dead. one happened never mow -- near mosul the other near baghdad. all appeared to be directed at the shiite members living in those areas. they say shiites have held back on retaliating which is a good sign. >>> the taliban

george, st. mary's county and calvert. those go until midnight. at that point we think you'll be building in with some rain and your temperature will rise, but it's a mixed mess tonight we are talking about. it's already gotten started. we know, we're hearing reports of people slipping on the sidewalks, some iciness on roads. the snow and sleet will change to freezing rain around midnight. it will be a mix to rain south and east of d.c. you're a bit off the hook down there. the precipitation will end in the early to late morning. we think it will wrap up pretty quickly, but unfortunately, shawn, there could be a buildup of ice, especially north and west, enough to cause some delays potentially in the morning. we're worried about the freezing rain aspect of it. there is a little snow accumulating. you may get up to an inch before it changes over to freezing rain north and west of d.c., lots more to come including the timing in the futurecast when i join you later. >> thank you. >>> meantime crews have been out for hours already treating the roads ahead of this metsy mix. fox 5's a

western loudoun and even into prince george's county annapolis i noticed even had a 3-inch amount, 1 to 3 inches there. the heaviest snow by far and away up along the mason dixon line. just to give you some specifics, frederick did have about 5 inches of snow, annapolis 3, columbia 3 1/2, in the district about 1/2-inch mostly sleet with snow on top, ashburn 1.2 and martinsburg, west virginia, 4 inches. sleet definitely played havoc with the forecast and also on the roads this morning. some flurries as mentioned in our weather headlines the next few hours. tomorrow it will be quiet and maybe little warmer, how about 40 degrees? it's not like last week when we had our record heat and three days at or above 70, but at least here's some good news. our next storm for those of you who don't want more snow will be liquid getting going thursday afternoon into friday and there may, in fact, be heavy rain with that kind of in two waves. we'll have to watch that, the heaviest rain coming in overnight into friday morning, maybe lingering into part of the afternoon as well. now we're still not te

lacrosse player george huguely is about to get underway. huguely is a accused of killing his girl friend yeardley love back in 2010. >> reporter: at 6:18 this evening each side in the case finally agreed that they had a pool of 28 people who are qualified to serve on the jury. tomorrow morning at 9:15 the prosecution will have what are called strikes. that is, they can remove people from that pool. the defense also has strikes and they will get down to final panel of 12 jurors and three alternates. as soon as that is done, the opening hearing you'll will begin. part of the problem in selecting this jury is that all of the potential jurors came from the city of charlottesville. this is where the murder took place. this is where george huguely was a varsity lacrosse player and was a senior here at the university of virginia. yeardley love was a varsity lacrosse player and senior here at the university of virginia. this story received saturation coverage and many people who were called as jurors have some connection to the university. they either work here or know somebody who works
