in prince george's county today starting after 1:00 today when an officer tried to pull someone over. police say the driver tried to outrun the officer, got stopped at a barricade, and reversed the car into the police cruiser before taking off again. eventually the driver and passengers got out and ran. one person was arrested, but all the others are still on the run. >>> it's been several weeks since harry thomas junior resigned from d.c. council and pleaded get to embezzling from the district. the funds meant for youth sports programs. leaders from the organization where thomas was able to steal most of the money will be in front of a committee tomorrow, trying to figure out how thomas did it without anyone finding out. >> the chairman of this committee says he has many questions to ask when it comes to how thomas was able to rob about $350,000 and he wants to know if new procedures in place will insure this doesn't happen again. federal officials say thomas was able to use his influence as a council member to funnel the money into his own pocket. tomorrow officials from cyitc will

into southern prince georges county just north of waldorf. waldorf, there's lightning around you. this is still north of fredericksburg. it is basically going to pull on and continue to move down to the south and southeast. it's all moving at about 20 to 25 miles per hour. it will move on down to the southeast. it will get on out of here and have more light rain and before the next hour or so, i think most of us will be dry. this is the way it looks as we pull out. now i want to take you further to the north because the last few hours we have been watching this complex of showers and thunderstorms coming out of north western sections of pennsylvania. and it has been severe. it has weakened just a little bit. the good news here, if there is any good news, the storms prediction center in norman, they have all the fancy tools and a lot of eyeballs on this, have decided not to issue a severe thunderstorm watch. so that is good. i still think that comes all the way down and some of the viewing area will get some rain, maybe some dying thunderstorms out of it. we'll talk more about it in the

on radar. there's still a little bit of activity down there. southern prince george's county and across portions of northern calvert, crossing across chesapeake beach. cambridge, you may get a couple of these showers. a few spotty showers east of 270 in montgomery county and over into howard county west of columbia. on trueview you can see all the activity as it was moving on down to our south. it's a cool front that slipped through. we were 79 degrees for the high today but now that that cool front has pushed on through, no such luck tomorrow. it's going to be one of those days where we do a 180. i'll give you a preview of what we can expect as we look at our surface features. we'll continue to see the cool front slipping on down to our south. high pressure will get more of a northeast wind going and the bottom line, lots of clouds and chilly temperatures are on tap for us tomorrow. maybe a spotty shower here and there. we'll watch for a little bit of light fog. that's not the only change we have in the forecast. before we get to the weekend, we're going to see yet another big t

roman, a teenager reported missing in prince george's county last november. roby avez is live at montgomery county police headquarters tonight in rockville with the very latest. >> reporter: we are getting new information. the first murder victim of the new year here in montgomery county is indeed an 18-year-old teen. that teen turned up missing more than a month ago, almost two months ago back in november back in prince george's county. tonight -- today, rather, police found him dead in the driveway of an old farm house. it is a murder mystery that has stunned this farming community. the body of 18-year-old alex nando roman was found shot to death. the teen was found lying in a poofl blood in this -- pool of blood in this driveway leading to an old farm house that's up for sale. >> very quiet neighborhood. we have -- we've never had anything like this. looks like our area is changing when you look at things like this. >> reporter: now that police have identified the victim, there are more questions than answers. it turns out roman was reported missing in late november in prince

train and a tow truck in prince george's county last night. the truck was trying to get a car off the tracks. police say the car's driver had been drinking and thought the tracks were a road. no one was injured here either. >>> the washington regional alcohol program said it took more than 600 potential drunk drivers off the street last night. the soberride program gave free rides to 606 st. patrick day revelers. that's the most rides ever provided in one night and it translates to one ride every 71 seconds. the program offers free cab rides worth up to $30 if you've been drink too much on a holiday. -- drinking too much on a holiday. >>> we are learning more family details about the army staff sergeant accused in the mass murder of 16 afghan civilians. sergeant robert bales and his wife had a history of financial problems. they reportedly abandoned a home years ago. days before the shooting they asked to abandon their current home. sergeant bales was arrested for assaulting a girl friend in 2002 and was charged with a hit and run after falling asleep at the wheel in uniform. earlier

george's county police have made an arrest in connection with the homicide of a bladensburg business owner. richard naum was killed in april found unconscious inside his burning convenience store. police are not releasing information about the suspect or the arrest until tomorrow. >>> prince george's county police are investigating another homicide tonight. it happened early this morning in the 1900 block of rochelle avenue in district heights. police found 26-year-old dwight hicks with a gunshot wound. he was taken to a local hospital where he later died. call police if you have any information. >>> a teenage bicyclist is in the hospital tonight after colliding with a hit and run driver. it happened at alabama avenue and stanton terrace in southeast just after 11:30 last night. the 17-year-old was critically injured. police caught up with the driver they believe hit him in prince george's county shortly after the incident. officers haven't released his name yet or the name of the injured bicyclist, no details on possible charges either. >>> if you happen to be driving along i-95 corridor

two of the murder trial of uva lacrosse player george huguely continues. today more rivetting testimony about how his ex-girl friend yeardley love died and about the injuries he had on his body. fox 5's karen gray houston is in the newsroom. >> lots of testimony today from evidence technicians. they also showed jurors pictures that showed george huguely had bruises and abrasions on his arms, hands, knuckles the day his ex was found dead. in the videotaped interview he did with police huguely tells investigators the injuries were the result of a lacrosse game and practice. the jury also heard from the coroner who conducted the autopsy on yeardley love. dr. william gormley testified the cause of death was clear, blunt force trauma. grim autopsy photographs were shown to the jury to support his case. our paul wagner is in charlottesville covering the trial. we asked him this evening about gormley's testimony. you had some interesting findings. he's a key witness, is he. , for the prosecution? >> two things he said today that was interesting is that one, there's evidence that she
