metro riders in prince george's county are wonder if they will be stranded. the transit agency is considering shoulding down three stations on the weekend. the move would save the company money, but the riders would hit more than their wallets. >> reporter: at the cherylerly station, these don't get a lot of use on the weekends. fewer than 600 use them on sundays. >> i hope they don't start closing everything down. >> reporter: that's exactly what might happen at the station. three of them could be shut down on saturdays and sunday. the projected deficit for next year in metro is $189 million. and the fiscal year begins july 1st. all kinds of service cuts and fare hikes are on the table but the possility of completely closing stations on weekends has stunned the riders we encountered. >> i use it constantly and for them to stop the service is not fair for everyone. >> you know, i can't afford no taxi. some taxis won't take you through the dc line. >> reporter: residents living near the cheverly station would be pleased if the service was kept. fewer trains at night and ending the

foot fence, latches and gates. but thursday afternoon prince george's county police say a 12- year-old boy visiting his uncle next door decided to sneak a swim. police say he pushed this metal garbage can against a fence and hopped over. police say the homeowner never saw or heard a thing. he was in the front yard power washing. >> the other sibling saw him go over the fence and watched him when he wasn't moving, that's when they notified the adults in the home. >> reporter: police say the uncle, 59-year-old david used the same garbage can to get over the fence in an attempt to help sieve his nephew but something happened. they were found at the bottom of the 8 foot pool. efforts to save both were unsuccessful. they were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. >> he was a marvelous manual, just marvelous. >> reporter: charles lives across the street. he says he saw the kids looking through the fence but had no idea anyone was in danger. good when we were pulling out of the driveway, i saw two kids standing on the trash can up against the fence. and i thought they were j

police medevac helicopters flew two of the injured to prince george's hospital center. one of tem said to be in critical condition. the other expected to live. both are young men, not sure of their ages. a teenage girl in the honda accord was also hurt but taken to the hospital by ambulance. alonzo warren was driving by and watched the rescue. >> they cut two out of the front seat and the one in the back seat, he was like -- it took them about 20 minutes to get him out. they had to cut the whole front off and part of the roof to get him out. but he was -- [ indiscernible ] the rest of them, just real quiet. >> reporter: first responders say the crash along lords landing road was ikely caused by excess speed and the diver losing control of the car. it's a 25 mile per hour zone here in the middle of lords landing village. the car left the road, hopped the curb and smashed into this tree. police say no other cars were involved in this accident. at last report all three of the injured were being treated here at prince george's hospital center. >> paramedics say the three people in the car

of maryland student allegedly beaten by prince george's county police. several officers have now been suspended over that incident that happened back in march. one of them is accused of flat out lying in that report. roz plater is live at prince george's county police headquarters with the latest. >> reporter: tonight the police union is coming to the defense of one of those suspended officers, the one who wrote the report. that sworn document of what was supposed to have happened that night is one of the most troubling aspects of this case. prince george's county police confirm four of its officers connected to the beating of a university of maryland student caught on tape have been suspended. sources tell fox 5 three of the four are anthony cline and reggie bake everybody. there are more questions about the charging document that supposed to detail what happened. the papers claim the student struck park police officers and their horses, something park police have denied and the tape paints a very different picture. the police union president says the officer who wrote that document
