to a clerk's head in prince george's county right in the middle of the day. the dangerous robber still on the run tonight and police need your help tracking him down. fox 5's roz plater is working this one tonight. roz? >> reporter: laura, you won't get a good look at the robber's face but you will hear his voice. the mannerisms, his hair, his clothing, enough that people will know exactly who he is. 4:30 the afternoon of july 7 at this oxon hill gas station in a very busy intersection, the robber walks in. surveillance tape shows he waits till the coast is clear and rather methodically springs into action. >> pulls the gun from his waist band, sets it up, wraps it in a shirt and then displays it right up to the clerk. as you'll see, he puts it right to the clerk's head. >> reporter: it's clear the clerk with a gun to his head is terrifed. the robber asks and gets the second cash drawer. >> the clerks did the right thing. they saw the threat. complied with his demands. handed over the funds, no fuss, no muss. >> reporter: but workers tell us the whole thing has left them terrifed

georges county police are trying to find whoever killed a teenager in fort washington. they found marquis davis living in the middle of john paul jones avenue. police say at this point davis suffered trauma and was dead on the scene, but that's all they're saying tonight. several people will need to find a place to live after a fire destroyed their apartment last night. it started on the very top floor of the building on annapolis road. 14 adults and two children were left homeless from a fire. >>> what do you do when no one owns the building you live in? especially if you're living there? that's the problem to people living in bank owned properties. a will the of them rallied to point out how bad things have gotten. more than 83% of the buildings in prince georges county alone that were sold at foreclosure have roaches, mice, or even bedbugs. there's holes in the walls, black mold, and broken heat and air-conditioning. tenants say that includes a place call bedford station. >> last week, many, many tenants, hundreds of them without hot water. the heater system was broken and some

foot fence, latches and gates. but thursday afternoon prince george's county police say a 12- year-old boy visiting his uncle next door decided to sneak a swim. police say he pushed this metal garbage can against a fence and hopped over. police say the homeowner never saw or heard a thing. he was in the front yard power washing. >> the other sibling saw him go over the fence and watched him when he wasn't moving, that's when they notified the adults in the home. >> reporter: police say the uncle, 59-year-old david used the same garbage can to get over the fence in an attempt to help sieve his nephew but something happened. they were found at the bottom of the 8 foot pool. efforts to save both were unsuccessful. they were pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. >> he was a marvelous manual, just marvelous. >> reporter: charles lives across the street. he says he saw the kids looking through the fence but had no idea anyone was in danger. good when we were pulling out of the driveway, i saw two kids standing on the trash can up against the fence. and i thought they were j

truck, but depending upon who you believe, gillette is either the predator or the victim. prince georges county prosecutors say mount rainier officer gene gillette lured him to his home to be in a porno movie and engage in sexual acts. when the victim refused and tried to escape, prosecutors say he shot the victim repeatedly. the officer said it was a carjacking, but that was a lie. they were able to further investigate and uncover more as we went along and determined that the story was not as it originally appeared. >> reporter: in the defense version of events, gillette is a victim arguing his release at a bond hearing, the officer's attorney say the accused in the case wanted to rob gillette, stole his truck and tried to run him over. the shooting, self defense and anything else that happened was consensual. fellow officers, family and friends refused to say anything. do you believe the charges against mr. gillette? in court, the prosecutors said this is not something that happened just one time. the defendant has done this before. the investigation remains open. >> we are certainly a

still trying to determine how she died. if you have any information, call prince george's county police. >>> now to a story seen first on fox 5, thousands of speed camera tickets in one maryland town may have been issued illegally. those are allegations in a lawsuit filed today that accuses riverdale park police of issuing tickets without an officer signing off but using his name anyway. fox 5 sherri ly is following this. >> a police officer in the department blew the whistle on the police department, but state law, an officer supposed to review each ticket, but court documents show the officer's name on citations even though he was on leave from the department. court documents show e-mails between the officer and two civilian employees that describe writing up the citations saying we all will take 1,000 clear them out. under state law only an officer can do that. each ticket is $40 in 2011 alone the town earned $1.8 million from speed camera tickets, about 1/3 of the town budget. the lawsuit claims the practice goes back to want 9 and that the civilian employees fraudulent -- 2009 and

lacrosse player george huguely is about to get underway. huguely is a accused of killing his girl friend yeardley love back in 2010. >> reporter: at 6:18 this evening each side in the case finally agreed that they had a pool of 28 people who are qualified to serve on the jury. tomorrow morning at 9:15 the prosecution will have what are called strikes. that is, they can remove people from that pool. the defense also has strikes and they will get down to final panel of 12 jurors and three alternates. as soon as that is done, the opening hearing you'll will begin. part of the problem in selecting this jury is that all of the potential jurors came from the city of charlottesville. this is where the murder took place. this is where george huguely was a varsity lacrosse player and was a senior here at the university of virginia. yeardley love was a varsity lacrosse player and senior here at the university of virginia. this story received saturation coverage and many people who were called as jurors have some connection to the university. they either work here or know somebody who works
