. imagine living with even hotter temperatures inside. neighbors in one prince george community have had little or no ac in their apartment for weeks. maureen is here with their story. maureen? >> reporter: shawn, we went inside one of their apartments and down right un bearable. the temperature was at least 10 degrees higher inside those apartments and that has the residents steaming with anger. driven out by the heat. >> you go in there and it feels like you have the oven on. >> reporter: the neighbors at the colonial in ox end hills have been forced to sit outside for a bit of relief from the heat inside. >> got to stay cool, huh? >> yes. >> since it has been hot i have no air in my unit. >> this is the unit and it does not work. >> reporter: no ac for weeks she says. it has been nothing short of miserable. fans run constantly. the windows stay open. but nothing helps. we used our smart phones temperature app to see how hot it was. >> the temperature says it is 105.8 in here. that's ridiculous. >> neighbors say the complex's management has told them they are working on the problem

in prince george's county today starting after 1:00 today when an officer tried to pull someone over. police say the driver tried to outrun the officer, got stopped at a barricade, and reversed the car into the police cruiser before taking off again. eventually the driver and passengers got out and ran. one person was arrested, but all the others are still on the run. >>> it's been several weeks since harry thomas junior resigned from d.c. council and pleaded get to embezzling from the district. the funds meant for youth sports programs. leaders from the organization where thomas was able to steal most of the money will be in front of a committee tomorrow, trying to figure out how thomas did it without anyone finding out. >> the chairman of this committee says he has many questions to ask when it comes to how thomas was able to rob about $350,000 and he wants to know if new procedures in place will insure this doesn't happen again. federal officials say thomas was able to use his influence as a council member to funnel the money into his own pocket. tomorrow officials from cyitc will

metro riders in prince george's county are wonder if they will be stranded. the transit agency is considering shoulding down three stations on the weekend. the move would save the company money, but the riders would hit more than their wallets. >> reporter: at the cherylerly station, these don't get a lot of use on the weekends. fewer than 600 use them on sundays. >> i hope they don't start closing everything down. >> reporter: that's exactly what might happen at the station. three of them could be shut down on saturdays and sunday. the projected deficit for next year in metro is $189 million. and the fiscal year begins july 1st. all kinds of service cuts and fare hikes are on the table but the possility of completely closing stations on weekends has stunned the riders we encountered. >> i use it constantly and for them to stop the service is not fair for everyone. >> you know, i can't afford no taxi. some taxis won't take you through the dc line. >> reporter: residents living near the cheverly station would be pleased if the service was kept. fewer trains at night and ending the

into southern prince georges county just north of waldorf. waldorf, there's lightning around you. this is still north of fredericksburg. it is basically going to pull on and continue to move down to the south and southeast. it's all moving at about 20 to 25 miles per hour. it will move on down to the southeast. it will get on out of here and have more light rain and before the next hour or so, i think most of us will be dry. this is the way it looks as we pull out. now i want to take you further to the north because the last few hours we have been watching this complex of showers and thunderstorms coming out of north western sections of pennsylvania. and it has been severe. it has weakened just a little bit. the good news here, if there is any good news, the storms prediction center in norman, they have all the fancy tools and a lot of eyeballs on this, have decided not to issue a severe thunderstorm watch. so that is good. i still think that comes all the way down and some of the viewing area will get some rain, maybe some dying thunderstorms out of it. we'll talk more about it in the

georges and the district, brian, but yeah, it was full of lightning, especially a little while ago. it was coming south on 270 around gaithersburg and restin. we had quite a tremendous light show. earlier tonight we had reports of hail in the pan handle of west virginia. in berkley county we saw very strong thunderstorms, martinsburg and damage in louden. let's go to radar because what we have left is a little bit of lightning but just a moment ago, some flash flood warnings got issued for this collection of thunderstorms i'm going to show you, still pretty far down to our south, and this is going to be for page county and rockingham county around the harrisburg area, they're getting a lot of rain. not for the severity of the storm but the heavy rain they're continuing to see. quick look at vipir, there is more to come and there's more rounds of summer-like thunderstorms, the heat is on. the humidity is off the charts, and we think that once again tomorrow we're going to see that heat pump sending in a lot of humidity and temperatures getting into the low 90s, so prepare yourself,

out of prince george's county. candidates say fake ballots are circulating and they may be illegal. it claims anthony mues end corresponded -- endorsed the candidates in it. but the fake ballot tells you to vote for his opponent. that person is one of the people he blames for the fake ballot. >> i went to the three candidates who were the primary ones carrying it. and i said these are fraudulent, you can't carry these. but having potential lawmakers to say me, i don't care if we are breaking the law we will carry them for three days. and that was basically the response until the police actually went out to make these candidates put down these ballots. >> he linked the phony ballots to his opponent chapman and valderald and jerry mathis. we called all of them and left messages. we have not received a response yet. the fake ballot lists citizens for change as the group responsible. but that campaign committee does not exist. >> with elections creeper closer political parties are out in full force. democrats in virginia hit the pavement today trying to gain support. former virginia go
