news. this is from prince george's county. a fire at a county firehouse. >> the closest stations lost its fourth career staffing. matt brock has the details. >> to show you the fire station behind me. people are working inside. it is ok now. not so much at about 2:30 this morning. people are worried that this is a sign of things to come. smoke and flames poured out of an engine. volunteers whoere there doing prep work were able to move some equipment before it got too bad. the first fire company called in to help was the capitol heights station. only just this weekend there were bumps down to volunteer stuffing. we're told the capitol heights group never made it here. so many told us they are concerned about reduced staff and that it could lead to disaster. the fire chief at prince george's counties said he is dealing with $110 million budget, that is $2 million less than last year. he has had to make these changes in staffing in certain stations and making some station's specialty stations. he said no new hires until june of 2010. the guys working here get no overtime. matt broc

tomorrow in an important test of diplomacy, the first of its kind since the early part of george w. bush's presidency. we will keep you informed. >> investigators are waiting for the autopsy results of two men found in a burning home inci upr marlboro. they were killed late saturday night after a fire at the home on wheeling avenue. it took about 45 minutes for firefighters to bring it under control. when the home was searched they discovered the bodies. friends and neighbors are shaken by the tragedy. >> my heart was empty right now. it really does. i don't know. what can you say? >> the blaze was so intense it melted the siding on nearby holes. the names of the victims have not been released. authorities are trying to determine what sparked the fire. d.c. fire officials believe a natural gas leak may have caused an explosion that levelled a northwest home saturday night. that caused more than a million dollars in damage to the home near rock creek park. the force of the explosion was so strong it shattered windows on neighboring houses. no one was hurt. >> a woman charged with ki

that deadly shooting pree had apparently b planning this for months. 48-year-old george sodini wrote in a diary that he planned to do it in january but he chickened out. he complained he had not gone on a date or slept with a woman in years. he killed three women before taking his own life. freed of reporters laura ling and euna lee are speaking about their ordeal. the women said they were kept separated and were fed meals with rice with rocks. they were pardoned on tuesday after former president bill clinton helped win their release. william jefferson is looking at prison time. a federal jury convicted him on bribery charges. he is accused of taking money to broker business deals in africa. $90,000 was found stashed in his freezer. >>> bill would allocate tens of millions of dollars for luxury planes to transport members of congress. the planes are capable of flying nonstop from d.c. to beijing. the pentagon asked for when jet for the africa command. other jets were asked for to fly members of congress. >> they criticize automaker ceo's for flyi i they want to fly out of town. >> al
