stories, the case goes to the jury in the george huguely murder trial. we are tracking a storm that could bring snow to the area. good evening, everyone. both sides in the murder trial of george huguely have made their cases. >> after a quick defense witness and closing arguments which took most of the afternoon, a jury must now decide whether george huguely killed yeardley love on purpose, unintentionally, or not at all. before his fate was put into the hands of the jury, the defense called a surgeon who said in his opinion, yeardley love's brain did not have injuries consistent with blood force trauma. the defense rested. the commonwealth did not offer any rebuttal. the commonwealth's attorney began retelling the story that love was found dead. she made the decision to stay in her room while george huguely made the decision to go see her while he was drunk. they reminded the jury about the saidl that george huguely's that he should have killed her. the only possible explanation for her death was blunt force trauma. he said, the evidence clearly shows that glove was murdered during

six-year-old prince george's county boy who accidently shot himself. amary perkins shot himself in the chest on tuesday. police say that brown also lived at the home in clinton, brought the gun home and stashed it in a backpack. it is a video that has gone viral on line. a tourist in downtown baltimore was beaten and stripped. the victim is a 31-year-old man from arlington, virginia. city police are asking your help in locating these three suspects that were in the video. investigators were able to freeze a portion of that assault and zoomed into the street people who are wanted in the case this all happened around st. patrick's day around 100 block of st. calvert street. testimony continues today in the hit and run trial of rubin d unn. was driving drunk when he struck and killed two teenagers last june. today, his ex-girlfriend, candor miles, testified that, when they reached 295, he told her to drive, thinking that she would get a lesser sentence if they got caught. >> if this was mr. dunn in that position, ms. miles would never have been charged. >> the charges against mr. dunn

leading economist at george mason university is taking issue with the budget process in maryland. she poured over decades of reports by the state's spending affordability committee. this panel of legislators and civilians make recommendations on how much the state budget to grow each year. her research finds that the committee has failed to keep spending in check for 30 years. she discovered members ignore their own guidelines and operate more like a spending target than a spending cap. >> they would set the criteria for spending growth. when that amount did not fit with what they wanted to spend, they found another way to justify it. >> presiding officers considered the committee a good budget balancing tool. she recommends abolishing the committee and putting the plan in place that limits budget growth to the sum of inflation and population. >> governor o'malley is reportedly thrown around the idea of creating a panel to setting expanded gambling in maryland. he already said that he is considering a special session this summer to address the measure that fell short earlier this year
