stories, the case goes to the jury in the george huguely murder trial. we are tracking a storm that could bring snow to the area. good evening, everyone. both sides in the murder trial of george huguely have made their cases. >> after a quick defense witness and closing arguments which took most of the afternoon, a jury must now decide whether george huguely killed yeardley love on purpose, unintentionally, or not at all. before his fate was put into the hands of the jury, the defense called a surgeon who said in his opinion, yeardley love's brain did not have injuries consistent with blood force trauma. the defense rested. the commonwealth did not offer any rebuttal. the commonwealth's attorney began retelling the story that love was found dead. she made the decision to stay in her room while george huguely made the decision to go see her while he was drunk. they reminded the jury about the saidl that george huguely's that he should have killed her. the only possible explanation for her death was blunt force trauma. he said, the evidence clearly shows that glove was murdered during

this year. george huguely was in court today in charlottesville virginia. he is the man accused of killing cockeysville native and fellow university of virginia lacrosse player yeardley love last may. >> the preliminary hearing on january 21 will be moved to a later date. as lisa robinson explains, both sides agreed to the continuance, saying there is just too much forensic evidence yet to be analyzed. all this comes days after the prosecution issued five new charges. >> george huguely is facing new charges in the deaths of 22- year-old yeardley love. he is already being held in jail on a murder charge and now has five new felony charges hanging over his head including felony murder, robbery, statutory burglary and grand larceny. we talked to attorney stephen allen about what this could mean to the case. he said the prosecution wants to make sure huguely is not convicted for manslaughter, but for something much more. >> the defense will argue that this was a killing that took place during the heat of passion, an argument between two people were very close where things just got out
