anxiously arrived this morning at ps 59 in st. george, staten island. mayor de blasio and his wife and schools chancellor carmen farina visited the school as part of the first day of school tour. returning students and those starting out say that they are excited for the new school year. >> i brought pencil and paper. i'm in the second grade. and i'm also really happy. >> reporter: why is that? >> because i'm so excited to meet new friends and learn more things. >> hooray!
