. donnelly. >> reporter: lucy and chris, president george hw bush was admitted to the icu this morning. he's actually been in the hospital since saturday. he was brought here to the methodist hospital in the texas medical center complaining of shortness of breath and doctors actually thought he would be released from the hospital today or tomorrow but that didn't happen. instead of being released he was taken to the icu this morning for complications and for -- to be treated for acute respiratory problem stemming from pneumonia. doctors performed a procedure on former president bush to protect and clear his airway that did require sedation. we are told that he is resting and in stable condition at this point. doctors do not have timeline on when he might be released from the hospital. ask for mrs. bush, we're told she's been a little bit under the weather for about a week or two and this morning after she was suffering some writ he tee severe coughing and thought she needed medical attention and doctors have been doing a good job of keeping us update the on their conditions and
