day. work week preview state ahead. >>> prince george's county investigating a stabbing, two small children in the hospital after they were stabbed. fox 5 alexandra limon joining us from district heights with the latest. alex, what happened? >> reporter: annie, there's a i can tell you the investigation is fluid at this point. however, i can tell you this is a horrible crime we're dealing with, two very young kids were stabbed last night. and are in critical condition. now, the stabbing happened here on the 1700 block of dennis court in district heights around 10:30 last night. a lot happened since then. at one point, we heard the children were about two and three years old. as you can imagine, situation was very chaotic. at this point, the prince george's county police department says they can't confirm the exact ages other than to say those children are very young. at one point, we'd also heard they'd been upgraded to stable condition, unfortunately, this morning, again, the spokesperson said she does not believe that's the case. and sadly believes as of the last update she got t

mismanagement of the war, george w. bushin 2007 announce the surge and that did -- the troop surge did turn things around and stabilize the situation in iraq. they were calling for barack obama to credit george w. bush in his speech for that. but he ran against george w. bush and ran and became president because he opposed the iraq war from the start and it would not have set well with his democratic base had he started praising george w. bush. he did talk about his patriotism but i don't think he was about to credit him for managing the war well. >> i don't think we'll hear that at all. i hear you'll be talking to john mccain about those issues. and we are down to crunchtime and is there any time for results to show. > before the election. >> i don't think in the sense of turning around the economy. but the president will come out with a set of new ideas this week, based on tax cuts. more tax cuts for business, small business, whether he gets it there is problematic. but at least he will have something he and democrats can run on about ideas about how to boost the economy. chris,

in iraq and how similar that surge was to that the one is about to begin in afghanistan. george bush announced a timeline for withdraw and sai we're going to start pulling troops out in 2011 but petraeus was dead set against a timeline and we'll ask him what he thght about this one. and there are interesting details coming out about the deliberation, the three months of war councils that went on and at one point supposedly the president said to petraeus, although he's never publicly acknowledged the surge in iraq was a success, he supposedly said to petraeus, i want a surge in afghanistan. it ll be interesting to say whether petraeus is willing to confirm that. >> and another thing that has become apparent is one crucial outcome of the meetings is they change how they will define success. it's no longer just defeating the taliban. >> it's not defeating the taliban. and this is another interesting tidbit, supposedly general mcchrystal when he was talking to them firsby teleconference, he had a powerpoint presentation and he said objective, defeat the taliban and everybody in washingto
