florida. iowa state started the season in jameel mckay for the alley-oop dunk. george nyiang, cyclones win, 68-62 over colorado. the hawkeyes started the season overnight at gardner-webb. for the hawks, they were in a battle at the half and the away. back-to-back threes for the hawkeyes, getting iowa's offense rolling and from there they stretched it out to a comfortable win,. the drake men open this season against system last night. they knocked off the storms 65-52. the women's hawkeyes played that is ally disterhoft. game-high 20 points. iowa wins comfortably, final score 83-61 over north dakota. the cyclones played hampton. should send chills down the spine of every isu student but last night, no issues. hitting the three for isu and brittany carlson did something no freshman has ever done. she scored 23 points in her debut. cyclones win95-59 the final. what a day of action we have coming up later on today, beginning with the marquee event. the hawkeyes and oklahoma state in wrestling at kinnick stadium. the gravel on the gridiron is going to be 37,000 plus fans. northern

last night for the final time this season and said goodbye to their seniors, george niang, jameel mckay, and abdel nader. and it was a great night for each of them. taking on oklahoma state, niang racked up 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. nader had 19 points and 5 rebounds. and mckay had 6 points and 10 rebounds. that helped give the cyclones a 58 to 50 win over the cowboys. iowa state wraps up their season saturday on the road at top ranked kansas. that's at 3:00 p.m. on espn. elizabeth: the iowa hawkeyes have been struggling to get a win recently, and tonight their losses did to their tournament resume. but it won't be easy for the hawks. they're hosting the indiana hoosiers at 8:00 p.m. in iowa city. the hoosiers did beat the hawkeyes earlier this season. you can watch the game on espn. here in des moines, girls' state basketball is underway at wells fargo arena. after class 1a quarterfinals yesterday, manson-northwest webster finishes off the class 2a quarterfinals this morning. class 3a gets underway with nevada taking on sioux center at 5:00 p.m. and ballard faces keokuk at

happening. elizabeth: kcci's alyx sacks is live now at george flat parkway -- george flagg parkway and alyx, how bad is the flooding alyx: it is forecasted to go a little bit about 16 feet by wednesday morning. all this rain is causing some closures. george flag is closed right by southwest 30th street. that is expected when they see the raccoon river at this water level. fleur drive is expected to remain clear however forecasters are keeping an eye on that because with all the rain we have been seeing, you never know. the raccoon river needs to be above 16 feet -- 17 feet to flood fleur drive so that is good news. a holiday tradition has been forced to close because of the rain, jolly holiday lights. some electronic controllers were impacted by the rain and they were forced to close saturday night. with mid-american energy. unfortunately, too much damage was done and i had to close early for the entire season. this is the first time they have had to do this in 20 years. unfortunately, because of this event they have been able to grant 40 wishes but this year they hope to get about
