private school principal accused of having inappropriate contact with a student. george simons worked at the concept school when police say the crimes happened. this isn't the only local school where he's worked with children. drew smith is live this afternoon with the allegations and the school's response as well. drew? >> reporter: we found out the school board here at the concept school has fired george simons and while the school may be closed for the summer this police investigation certainly is not. they're asking anyone with information to come forward because there may be other possible victims out there. george symonds is out of jail free on bail. his attorney tells nbc10 he maintains his innocence and will fight the charges. but chester county district attorney tom hogan says he has a strong case independence the former principal of the school. >> that's tremendous abuse of position of trust and also tremendous abuse of power. >> reporter: hogan said the 62-year-old began the illegal contact with the eighth grade student last year and it continued this year with texts and e-mai

, george spencer, "nbc10 news." >>> some people in the area began the day in single digits. chief meteorologist glenn "hurricane" schwartz is here with the forecast. >> that's right. we have a storm that's going to be coming close to parts of the area. it's nice and clear right now. not a whole lot of wind. still pretty cold. snow fairly close right now, but this is not the storm going to affect it. out into arizona and new mexico that's going to be moving to the east over the next couple of days. ist going to pick up gulf of mexico moisture as you see, and kind of expand. there's going to be a large area of precipitation here. and part of our area is going to be on the northern edge of this as we go into thursday morning. obviously, the best chance of snow is in extreme southern delaware and extreme south jersey. there is the potential for some accumulation on this. i'll have more on the exact timing, how much snow may occur and how far inland that snow is likely to go with the seven-day in a few minutes. >> thanks glenn. sky force 10 over a fire at a shoe stoers in kensington. l

a crash-landing of a us airways plane at george bush enter continental airport in houston. one of the dozens of passengers on board snapped these pictures today. today passengers on board that plane are talking to nbc10. that flight took off from philadelphia last night without any problem. but the crew signaled trouble adds they were getting ready to land in houston. deanna durante learned what it was like on board. you spoke to a montgomery county who was a passenger. what is he saying about the experience? >> reporter: he says it was very calm on the plane. they were told by the pilot there was a problem with the landing gear and they were going to circle the tower. passengers tell me it was upon their second circling around the tower they knew something was wrong. they say the crew kept them informed and they had no choice but to trust them with their lives. >> it was incredibly calm. >> reporter: in row two, jim smith saw the sparks and smelted the smoke and he got off to plane as fast as he could. >> the flight attendant was yelling out, head down you know head down arms cro

start before it moved to chester and montgomery. this picture is from trexlertown. george spencer was on his way to king of prussia a little while ago when he spotted the storm coming to him. he tweeted out this picture of that storm as he headed on 76 the dark clouds looming. he joins us now over the telephone to tell us what conditions are like where you are. george? >> we were headed westbound on 76 when we took some of those pictures i tweeted out. what we noticed in several different spots were these unusual cloud formations clouds basically moving closer to the ground than we typically see even with a strong thunderstorm and these unusual patterns. once we got more in the area of the king of prussia mall we had an intense, intense period of heavy rain. in this particular spot we did not see any of the hail that has been associated with this storm in other areas. it was really intense rain and those unusual cloud formations that we witnessed really in several different spots of this large thunderstorm. even as this storm moves away from where we are, we are still seeing those clo
