south jersey as nbc 10's george spencer found the young man has a harrowing tale and now a timely warning for other young dirt bike riders. >> i was actually hoping i can't wait until i'm sitting in the hospital bed. that's what i was looking forward to. >> reporter: not many people look forward to being in a hospital bed but fin miller has his reasons. the 15-year-old was rescued after a dirt bike wreck left him unable to walk and alone. >> i think when it happened i was in shock. it happened so quickly, it hurt yes, but i wasn't in much pain. >> reporter: miller got the bike back in june and intended to take a quick spin in the township woods. so thickly wooded we couldn't even see the trail below from skyforce 10. >> my legs smacked and threw me off. i spun around and landed on the ground. >> reporter: miller's leg broke badly left dangling below the hip. his family and rescue crews searched the woods. he first tried to get back on the bike and then tried to use tree branches for crutches before finally dragging himself down the trill on is elbows. it was two and a half long ho

for the suspect to stab three people in crescentville overnight. george spencer is live outside einstein medical center in olney with the latest from police. george? >> reporter: rosemary, as you mentioned we are learning this is not only a triple stabbing but a robbery of those three male victims as well. witnesses who first called said one of the victims was stabbed over his entire body. nbc 10's cameras were there at the scene in the 600 block of mayfair earlier this morning. police were still holding that scene. this happened after 3:00 a.m. one of the victims, a 27-year-old man, was stabbed in the neck. a 28-year-old man stabbed in both the chest and the back. we're still working to figure out the injuries of the third man. all three were rushed to einstein medical center. we have learned they are all in stable condition. they are looking for two suspects in the case last seen running from that scene. live this morning, i'm george spencer, nbc 10 news. >>> thanks for that, george. pennsylvania state police tell us careless driving led to a man's death in langhorn, bucks cou

neighborhood and how long it will last. good morning and welcome to nbc 10 news today. i'm george spencer. it is now 5:30 on this sunday morning. let's get to our weather. s conditions right now are dry. tropical storm bonnie is expected to make land fall soon. once it does we'll have tropical moisture headed our way. showers will start later in afternoon and isolated thunderstorms throughout the overnight hours. a minor concern of mine would be rip tide issues if is not a major concern, but you have to keep it in mind for high tide later this afternoon between 1:50 and 2:30 p.m. clouds are developing right now. but as it continues, we will see that tropical moisture continue to work it's way up the eastern sea board. more rain on the way tonight and into tomorrow. for rounds of therms to kick off your monday morning when a lot of you will be traveling back to your home or work. soly go through your future cast and we'll talk about how much we can expect tomorrow. it could get messy. >> memorial day weekend is in full swing up and down the jersey shore. the first full weekend is being called

begins just after 8:30 this morning at the police touch museum in fairmount park. nbc10's george spencer will be busy today. he'll be climbing the stairs of the comcast center for a very good cause. the comcast building in center city is the location of a new event called the big climb philly. some 1500 people will test themselves by climbing almost 1100 steps up 43 flights to the top of the city's highest skyscraper. the event raises money for blood cancer research. ♪ >> it's prom season. these kids are getting into the spirit. the kinney center for autism, education and support held a prom last night on the campus of st. joseph's university. they held it for their clients. about 25 people with autism and their student dates put on a night of dancing and fun. >>> the flyers stay alive! another big story we're watching this morning. they managed an unlikely win after getting outshot and outhit. we'll hear from the players in a report from washington coming up in sports. >>> two elderly boaters are recovering today. the coast guard rescued them when their boat got stuck in the m

class george trafr was killed in the south pacific in 1943. yesterday his remains were returned home. they were recovered in a mass grave and brought home by the group history flight. a police motorcade escorted the coffin. his funeral will be held tomorrow. >>> this woman in texas is a link to history. she recently found letters from a soldier killed in world war ii in an old shed. it took her a week to track down the soldier's family with only a handful of nieces and nephews still alive. the letters and photos and keepsakes were priceless artifacts, rich in history. >> it shows freedom and hope and love and family. >> thank you so much for finding me. >> the soldier's nephew says he will get together with the cousins to go through all of his uncle's items. >>> we will start off by taking a look at those temperatures along the jersey shore this morning. some temperatures in low mid 70s. cape may courthouse 71 degrees, cape may point at 74 for the current temperature. upper township 75 degrees, ocean city 74 and you see for the most part those numbers similar along the shore, mid upp
