independent senator. and they felt -- they weren't sure george allen was that much of a threat. but what they're focusing on is ex governor kaine is coming up. very popular governor of virginia who has run statewide. so he's got the experience. the other name you see popping up is tom periello, one-term congressman caught in the republican landslide, booted out of office in the democrat shell lacking. he stood with his values. he didn't run away from obama and lost narrowly. he has principals and he made a name for himself. those are two names being touted. >> i would think kaine has a good chance. he's already been in public office and people like him and like some of his policies. the think about george allen, though, now that jim webb has stepped down -- remember we discussed this months ago that he would be stepping down. we were concerned how the tea party would play into this whole thing with george allen now. because george allen, this isn't a shoo-in for george allen. he has some opponents out there. democrats have a chance, if they stage it right, to pull it off. >> they wo

throughout the metro area where temperatures are in the upper 30s. in prince george's county mid-30s, arlington, montgomery, fairfax counties mid-to upper 30s. it's above freezing around the region. eastern shore show temperatures are in the mid-30s. and it's generally above freezing except in a few locations out in the mountains temperatures there around 30 degrees. and there are some clouds over the shenandoah valley. and into the most at this hour. those clouds will remain here for the next few hours. for the blue ridge east clear. we have that bright full moon, getting lower in the western ski. lots of sunshine today as weak high pressure comes over the region and afternoon highs climb to 50 degrees. now although it's going to seem cooler we'll have a bit of a blustery wind out of the northwest at 10 to 20 miles per hour. overnight tonight we'll be clouding up. a coastal storm, a weak storm. moving quickly out to sea but brushing by us. maybe bringing clouds in tomorrow with highs in the mid-40s. tomorrow night we may get a little light rain south and east and snow west and north

one else was injured. and in prince georges county, the storms caused a deadly crash. it happened at the height of the storm yesterday. police say a tree fell on a minivan while a woman was driving. two people were driving. one died and one was talkken to the hospital in serious condition. >>> winds hit 70, 75 miles an hour. that caused a lot of problems.
