confirm the two passengers killed in the crash are 16-year-old girls from china and we've learned they were part of a 35-member group of middle school students and teachers taking part in a summer camp in los angeles. the night originated in shanghai with a stop in seoul, south korea. >> at least 49 were in bay area hospitals in critical condition. as of late last night. the hospitals have not updated the condition of their patients this morning but as soon as they do we will bring that to you. >> two of the runways at sfo remain closed at this hour. arriving flights are being delayed nearly 4 1/2 hours on average. passengers are being warned to expect long delays and some flight cancellations again today. so much of the attention this morning is on that federal ntsb team of investigators are who are just now beginning their inspection of the wreckage and the search for clues. how did this tragedy happen? abc7 news reporter matt examplar spoke with the head of the agency this morning and joins us live from sfo with what you have learned. good morning, matt keller. >> good morning.

on a china airlines flight this morning headed for taipei because of damage to the aircraft. no word on the problem but according to a sfo duty manager flight 3 was unable to take off. it was scheduled to lobby at 1:35. passengers were given the option to deplane while they fixed the problem. the china airlines flight is scheduled to debart in the next few minutes -- and a cab driver is being investigated for possible d.w.i. after running the vehicle off the road on southbound highway 101 near millbrae after at 1:30. the seen has been cleared. the cab cut across all lanes of traffic before going down a ditch on the other side of the road. authorities checked the driver out at the seen before taking him into custody. >> happening now, today is the first anniversary of the shooting massacre in oakland when seven people were killed. juan go was angry with school officials and planned the shooting. a judge ruled in january he is not competent to stand trial. there will be two memorial concerts for the victims, one on saturday in oakland and the other takes place in eldorado hills on
