pushing paper, and i look up long enough to notice that hillary clinton's giving this speech in china. now, i had been an asian studies major at dartmouth, i had studied mandarin in beijing, so i knew how powerful it was for our first lady to give this speech about women's rights in beijing to the world. i just kicked myself because i didn't know about the conference, i wasn't invited to the conference, i wasn't participating in this national and worldwide conversation, and i thought i need to get involved in politics. so i called a friend whose mom was involved, and she said join a women's group in new york city, i joined. i went to my first meeting -- i had to pay a thousand dollars to join. now, that was a lot of money, that was my represent check. but that was the only advice i was given, and so i did it. hillary's the speaker at this dinner, and i feel like she's talking straight to me, and she says decisions are being made every day in washington, and if you are not part of those decisions and you don't like what they decide, you have no one to blame but yourself. and i'm standi
