empathy of china will be at the national zoo at 10:00 this running to hand out dumplings to visitors of bao bao. bao, hard to believe it feels like yesterday we were celebrating the arrival of this giant female panda when she was born. she was the size of a stick of butter. these days, she is just a little larger, three to half years old, which means the time has come for her to pack her things and move across the globe. these are the final days for the public here in d.c. to say their final goodbyes to bao bao. we understand a fedex plane will fly our furry friend to china next tuesday. once a keeper and a veterinarian her be flying with traveling with a generous supply of her favorite treats -- bamboo, apples, pears, and cooked sweet potato. >> her sort of kids off to college. you are excited for them to make that next step and see what they can do with their lives. >> we all love her. she is our only girl we have ever had. bao was born here in august 2013. in china, she will be part of a breeding program. this is a long-standing agreement with china to protect this endangered species

zoo. the giant panda cub is heading to china on february 21. it is all part of the agreement requiring cubs born here to return to china before they turn four. farewell celebrations at the zoo start tomorrow.
