. >>> breaking news, anxious relatives in china are waiting for any information about a malaysia airlines plane that disappeared mid-air yesterday. these are photographs from inside the airport in beijing. people who were there to greet passengers have now been taken to a hotel several miles away. we're learning vietnamese air force planes spotted two large oil slicks in waters off the southern tip of the country. now, they appear to be consistent with the kinds of slicks that would come from two jet engines. cbs news reporter omar villafranca has more on the plane that was carrying more than 200 people, including four americans. >>reporter: air traffic control lost communication with malaysia airlines flight 370 about two hours into its journey. the plane was headed from kuala lumpur to beijing. according to china state news airks the plane was over vietnam at the time it vanished off the radar. 227 passengers, including two infants and 12 crewmembers are on board. the plane is a boeing 777-200 aircraft. the 777 had not had a fatal crash in its 20-year history until the asiana crash in san fra

from china has now died from the injuries she suffered in that crash. she had been in intensive care at sf general since saturday. the hospital is requesting at the family's request not to disclose her name or age. one of the chinese teenagers who died the day of the crash may have been killed by an emergency vehicle. san francisco police chief greg surr confirms yes ming juan was indeed ran over, but it is not clear if that is how she died >> we know for sure she was at least run over one time, but at the time she was under foam, so nobody could have seen her and the question is whether or not she was still alive at the time, so the coroner in san mateo county will be determining that. >> the girl was covered in the white foam crews display sprayed on the plane to douse the flames. the justice department is conducting an internal investigation while awaiting the coroner's report. >>> 300 people did survive thanks to the flight attendants and emergency responders. you can hear their stories in an encore presentation of our special "the heros of flight 214". that airs tomorrow morning

powerful typhoon battering parts of the philippines and china. the typhoon caused that empty building to collapse and fall into a rushing river in taiwan. and in the philippines the storm triggered triggered landslides and power outages. the storm has maximum sustained winds of 140 miles an hour. it's expected to make handfall in hong kong later today. so far, unbelievably, there's no reports at least, of any injuries. >>> the south bay teen has come clean and confessed to shooting bb pellets at several cars during the morning commute. more than a dozen cars were hit wednesday night as they drove southbound highway 101 near the key exit in san jose. a 15-year-old boy told investigators yesterday that he and his 11-year-old friend just started firing their bb dpns. an officer from the california highway patrol says while the boys are old enough to know better, they didn't seem to realize the danger of firing a weapon at speeding vehicles. >> they admitted to firing numerous bbs at the motoring public. they were not aware of how many vehicles they did strike. >> the boys are facing felony
