oakland today. in fact, the bay area's air quality is so bad it's currently worse than beijing, china, but a long shot. a record 11th straight spare the air day has been declared for tomorrow. paul, what is going on? >> first off, thankfully it's not going to stay this way. it was very poor air quality today. the reason why we added more junk to the atmosphere, those fires burning to the south of san francisco. all of that stuck under a lid. the lid being a big ridge of high pressure. the pollution had nowhere to go. we were stuck breathing it today. here's a shot from san jose through the afternoon. you can see the haze, the film. that is all the pollution that is not allowed to escape. as for tomorrow, it will be the 11th consecutive spare the air day with moderate air quality everywhere except for the south bay where the air will be unhealthy once again. so bad air once again tomorrow afternoon, no wood burning around here, but things will be changing. not only will the wind change, we have a minor chance of rain fall. we'll talk about that in the next ten minutes. >> thanks, sim's
