south korea, japan, russia and china are criticizing the launch. this comes after north korea's test last month of what was described as a hydrogen bomb. >>> rescuers publ survivors out of the rubble after an earthquake rocked taiwan. at least 26 people died in that quake. crews are trying to get to dozens of folks trapped in a high-rise apartment building. dozens more still missing. >>> overseas in austria, an avalanche killed five skiers, 10 others hurt. others had to be rescued on the mountain near insbrook. they were buried in snow making it difficult for rescuers to find them. >>> back in the u.s. it could take weeks to figure out what brought down this construction crane on friday. investigators hope the crane's will offer crews of the collapse in lower manhattan killed one person and badly injured three others. a construction crew trying to lower the crane when it collapsed and smashed through several cars and buildings. investigators believe high winds may have played a part. right now surveillance footage from nearby buildings and pouring over twisted steel on the crane

leaning on china to put pressure on north korea, but he also threatened to have the u.s. go it alone. joining us for insight is moderator of "meet the press," chuck todd. good morning. >> good morning, rosemary. >> it's a week of the president sending messages, firing missiles in syria, and dropping a bomb, and then a muted response last night to the missile test. is the president trying a tempered response? what is going on here? >> i think there's a lot of ways to interpret it, and one of the interpretations from the "new york times" is it's possible the u.s. had more involvement in the missile launch failure than people might realize. if you look at the report this morning in the "new york times," and there has been a lot of -- we had our own reporting over this during the last couple of years, and infiltrating north korea in a silent way to interrupt their arsenal and do so in a sub versive way. as "the times" notes, there are more launch failures in the three or last four years since this program got ramped up. there's evidence that perhaps, we helped them fail in this launch on

explosions in tianjin, china last week continues to rise this morning 112 people are dead, hundreds remain missing. that doesn't count the 95 people, including 85 firefighters who are still missing. just last night several small explosions rocked the disaster zone three days after the initial blast destroyed the city. despite the death and destruction there are incredible stories of survival. yesterday crews discovered this man inside a shipping container. doctors say he was conscious but still in shock. this morning firefighters will continue their search for other survivors throughout the area. >>> back in the u.s., there's a volatile situation happening out west. 33 large wildfires continue to burn in oregon and washington. the fires scorched more than 34,000 acres. thousands of people all across that region have been forced to pack up and leave their homes. investigators suspect one of the fires was sparked by lightning, but they have not made preliminary determinations about the other fires. >>> this morning there's a new report revealing details about a partnership between the
