there is increasing evidence of militarization by china in the south china sea. it's reported today that china has put anti-aircraft missiles on it's disputed man-made island in the south china sea. those are international waters, but china has been increasingly trying to lay claim to the area. analysts call china's actions a "significant military escalation." kerry described it as a "serious concern." kerry did not confirm the reports, but said there would be more talks with china in coming days. the airliner that carried pope francis to mexico was hit by a laser light from the ground as it arrived on friday. ali-talia airlines says no one was hurt and the aircraft landed safely. the carrier said today that the crew notified the mexico city airport's control tower of the officials around the world have been increasingly concerned about people training laser pointers on jetliners. in some cases, crewmembers have suffered permanent eye damage. apple says it's not just about a single terrorism case. the company is asking its stomers to understand why it's fighting an order fr a feral judge

china's aggressions in the south china sea. former governor chet culver has been lobbying against privatization of medicaid in iowa. on monday, he brought his message to sioux city, speaking to a crowd at the siouxland center for active generations. culver is leading the charge for the group "advocates for iowa medicaid", which says it wants to provivi a clear voice for iowans. "we're really builng a statewide coallition of advocates, providers, beneficiaries, people that are directly impacted by iowa's medicaid system everyday." said culver.
