the bay." >> good morning to you. thank you for joining us. i'm peggy bunker. >> i'm laura garcia-cannon. san francisco fire investigators still looking into what sparked a christmas day house fire that left two men in critical condition. chase cain joins us in san francisco with an update on the investigation. good morning. >> reporter: good morning guys. last night this turned into a three-alarm fire. there were at one point 115 firefighters out here at the scene of this fire. some of them are still out here this morning investigating the fire. there was such a large response because these old victorian homes are as you can see are so close together and of course made of wood so they can burn quickly and firefighters wanted to keep the flames from spreading. there was damage to the home at 620 baker. the house that first caught fire was 618 baker t fire broke out before 9:00 last night. by the time firefighters got here there were smoke and flames pouring out of the back of the house. it was a difficult fire for them to fight because it started, they believe, on the third floor

laura garcia-cannon. >> and i'm peggy bunker. out of russia investigators say a male suicide bomber carried out this morning's rush hour blast that killed at least 14 people and injured 28 others. they also say the bomb used is similar to the one in sunday's attack and believe they could have been made in the same place. both attacks happened in the city of volgograd northeast of sochi, that of course is where the olympic games will be held in february. the city is a major rail and bus hub you would normally pass through on your way to or from sochi. yesterday a female suicide bomber did this. right in front after metal detector in the main entrance after train station. that killed 17 people. white house officials say that president obama has been briefed on both attacks and the u.s. is working with russia on anti-terrorism efforts leading up to the winter games. at this time no one is claiming responsibility for either attack. >> closer to home, more breaking news. the search is on for a suspect who stole an ambulance while emts were responding to a medical emergency. it was taken

christmas. i'm peggy bunker. investigators are on the scene of a murder suicide this morning where four kids live. they say a husband shot his wife of 16 years and then took his own life. the couple's identity has not been released. their four children were in the home at the time. thankfully they were not injured. investigators are trying to figure out why a woman was on a light rail track in san jose. she was hit by a train and killed overnight. this happened on the highway 87 tracks. the train was heading northbound back to the vta dwrard and did not have passengers on board at the time of the crash. the vta put a bus bridge in place this. both directions. >>> several people are spending christmas morning looking for a new place to live after a fire ripped through their apartment complex in san francisco. this happened near the san francisco general hospital after midnight. fire officials tell us one person was taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries not clear at this time. crews were able to get control of the fire quickly but several units were damaged. all ten adul
