. host: edward from florida. good morning. aller: good morning. i'm so glad to be on c-span. my question is we commonly speak in terms that we know that the police officers do a very dangerous job and we have a lot of respect for what they do because we know they are protectors. but the problem i have is why is it so difficult just to we'd out the bad cops? when you have the leader of the police from new york saying that the officer that strangled the guy is an eagle scout, he's a model cop. and your eyes are telling you that doesn't look like a model cop to you. how do you weed out the bad cops? guest: that's a great question as well. again, i think it has to go back to the initial selection process and be more selective doing psychological tests to see if they have the attributes and personality traits to serve urban communities as well as we have to stop this illusion of object tivity that we have toward police officers. i would love to say that i'm objective at all times but again i harbor my own biases. police officers are human. so i think we need to recognize that and hav
