make it into the a winter weather advisory is now in effect in newberry county. chad mills is there. chad, how are conditions there? my car thermometer is reading a pretty constant 30-degrees here in whitmire for now. it appears spots are melting a bit, but there's still a good dusting of snow on the ground along with some sleet and ice on the roadways. let's get right to some video from earlier. so, but people here in whitmire tell me the snow started a few hours before that. they tell me they're enjoying the change in scenery, but of course, they're trying to be careful too. roads around whitmire and in other spots of northern newberry county roads are pretty slick. sheriff lee foster says, so far, there have been no major incidents. he tells me they've had to respond to a couple accident, but that's about it, and they weren't anything major. s-c-d-o-t workers are hard at work. they've been treating i-26 with a salt brine most recently. they've also treated some state roads with salt sand, including sc-121, sc-34, and sc-56. they haven't been able to treat secondary roads. d-o-t's
