sheena parveen. >> we see it out our window here. along with this rain we're in for cold? >> yeah, the cold's coming after the rain. but the rain right now in some areas is kind of heavy especially through philadelphia and wilmington and the major interstates. so not good timing, right in the middle of the evening rush. very slow going i'm sure on 95, areas like 676, 295. this is a lot of heavy rainfall where the reds and oranges and yellows are. we're seeing that across philadelphia, morristown into burlington county moving through the philadelphia area so it will continue to slide into new jersey. but areas like wilmington continuing to see that heavier rainfall and it's only going to get heavier for will ming son. you notice the darker shades moving into northern new castle county, crossing the major interstates likes 495 and 95. this stretches down into baltimore and washington. so now we're going to really track this line of heavier shower, that's going to move into areas like symrna, dover 7:00, milford at 7:35 and atlantic city by 8:00 p.m. we still have quite a few hours left o

being with us. i'm rosemary connors at 6:00 sunday. meteorologist sheena parveen has new neighborhood weather. it's a detailed forecast. sheena, the best part about it, you can always get seven-day. >> you always have seven-day scrolling at the bottom of the screen. if you haven't noticed it yet no matter where you are new jersey, pennsylvania or delaware, that seven-day forecast is always at the poem of the screen so you'll never miss it. we used to have one seven-day forecast for philadelphia but as we know the weather is not the same from the lehigh valley to the shore, so we have different forecast for the area. we also have a more specific forecast for your neighborhood so that is another thing. you can check the temperature no matter where you live. let's look at the temperatures across the area. we're mostly in the 30s north and west of philadelphia, parts of delaware, 46 in philadelphia. so we're dealing with patchy frost this morning. delaware neighborhood you see a little patchy fog marm any hills, greeneville 47, odessa 42. middle town 41. a little farther sout

alert meteorologist sheena parveen, you're watching some rain moving through. >> yes. we'll be watching the rain as jim finally gets into spirit. you got to put the blue on. he has a blue suit so maybe blue socksment we'll never know. a look at the radar, we have rain moving into the major interstates now. near philadelphia the rain is getting heavier, chester is getting heavier down to wilmington where you see the yellow, the oranges, the reds, the green is mostly lighter rain. it is sliding into the philadelphia area around 95, 76, 476, and this extends over into southern parts of chester county and new castle county around newark and wilmington. this is pretty heavy. rainfall rates about an inch and a half an hour but not sitting in one area for an hour though i would not be surprised about ponding of water on the roadways as you're driving. so if you still have to travel in these areas, take your time, go slower because this is the heavy rain moving through. it will be moving into the philadelphia area, continuing to move in. then you see the motion of it from west to east.

alert radar. >> nbc 10 meteorologist sheena parveen is joining us again wp the latest on these approaching showers. >> you know, one of the storms became severe in lancaster county but everyone is seeing or almost everyone still seeing clear skies, now we're seeing increasing clouds. if you're in lancaster county you're seeing heavy rain, severe thunderstorm warning until 6:00 p.m. this storm is moving quickly so i think it will be out of lancaster county pretty soon. heavy rain moving into chester county soon. but the most severe part of this thunderstorm is moving to the northeast. so, in areas like exiter, 525, approaching pottstown 5:31. limerick, knife:37. parts into berks county, with this 60-mile-an-hour winds, lightning, heavy rain and the potential for small hail. it also to the south this whole thing is moving to the northeast the line itself is moving from west to east, the storms within this line moving to the northeast so if we track the line itself, coatesville you can expect by 5:27, phoenixville 5:45 and westchester closer to 5:50. so these storms will be moving

10 first alert meteorologist sheena parveen. >> talk to us about the timing. >> the timing, we're seeing it through part of the area. really, the rest of the area will continue to see it move through for the evening commute. so it will be around on the major interstates, while a lot of you are driving. philadelphia area starting to see some of the rain approaching and as we go into the next few hours that will continue to spread to new jersey and delaware. closer look at the philadelphia area, the light rain is crossing 95 here up to trenton, even our suburbs across the p.a. turnpike. if you look farther down to the west and southwest around washington and baltimore, we have more rain here moving in. some of that is going to move into new jersey and delaware through the next several hours. now, this is part of a big storm system, the colder air obviously farther to the north where you see the snow. that's really hitting new england but we're going to be on the warm side of this as we go through the rest of tonight. big temperature difference, the areas seeing the rain, 40s and 50s
